I think that this is one of those songs whose mix, production etc.aren't that important, though. This song is all about the lyrics and the emotion. It could be made in whatever style anyone would like, but the true key of the song is in the message. That's why everyone praised it when it came out. Not because of its production, but because of its message and lyrics, also Gaga's voice and her own story.

i don't like the first part but i love it when it starts at "You tell me hold your head up.."

Lady Gaga/ Madonna/Lana /Azealia Banks/ Jazmine Sullivan/ DEEE-LITE/ Moko

I don´t like the way it´s written... seems like f*** off to anybody trying to help... I know she is talking to the one who did it to her, but it just doesn´t give me good vibes... :S

I like the song, but I don't like that particular recording. As already said many times, the production lets it down for me as well. It had missed potential and could've sounded great if it had the polish of Gaga's other piano/rock ballads, as Didy noted.

Exactly how I feel. I just cannot stand the song sonically.

I love it mainly because of the way she sings it (living for Dope) and I can personally relate to it

^That's what I thought at first, too. Then I thought about it more and I think it's directed at those who take it lightly and say "you'll be ok" which is like telling a person with a broken leg to "walk it off".

Speaking from personal experience...The wreckage of emotions that you feel after can also confuse you and make you not trust anyone. Even people trying to help with the best intentions in mind can feel like they're attacking you and telling you to get over it. I feel like TIHTY expresses that weird sense of paranoia and pain with a dash of anger and confusion perfectly.

It's directed at those same people who tell anxiety sufferers to "just calm down" or depressed people to "just be happy". You can't just be ok when something hurts you so deeply and all you can do to help anyone who suffers from mental illness or that has been through a traumatic experience is to hug them and tell them that you're there for them 100%.

...Just my opinion :duck:

I know and I understand, but it still feels to me like a ballad about such thing should be about the actual pain and not be aimed against anyone, do you get the sense of what I´m trying to say??? it feels like they focus on the bitterness to others instead of focusing on the actual trauma... and it feels like the victim doesn´t even want anyone´s help and want everyone to just go away, which is unfair to those who really want to help... they should have chosen a better aproach to the song while writing it, this just feels a little offensive, which is kind of a paradox, but people actually can get offended by this, especially those who just don´t say things like "It´s gonna be ok" and really want to help...

I myself cannot imagine the horror and the trauma that one has to go through after something like that happens to them, I know I don´t know how it feels but I know how to feel sorry for someone... and when I listen to that song it feels to me like all the bitterness is aimed at anyone who listens and that´s why I don´t listen to that song anymore...

But yes, it´s my opinion, it´s a delicate matter and I think that it should have been treated more carefully, but everyone sees things differently :)

Yes. I really can't take it seriously. It's too...moody, in a bad way. And that dope voice. Ugh make it stop.
