EdX 2,862
To be honest, I'd love if Gaga would become (and I have a feeling she's already becoming) just an artist who is appreciated and has that legend status. I'd love if she would be popular but not too famous. The most important thing (to me) is that she has the ability to write, sing and perform music and other material that she really does care about and has passion for. That's when we'll get the real side of her and she'll be able to express her artistry exactly the way she wants to. Because I feel that her previous albums and work have been more or less controlled by her team or whatever. But, I have a feeling that LG5 will be totally different. I've a feeling that it will sound, look and feel different than any of her previous albums, but also be the best of all, cause that will the first really REAL album of hers. She might draw a totally new audience to her side and some of her earlier fans will not be such huge fans anymore (although, that's how the situation has become after C2C, I think). So, by that, LG5 may not be as popular as 25, 21 or even Born This Way, BUT it will show the real her and that's what will make her the happiest. She already looks the happiest while making the album right now. And with the new and awesome team (especially, Bobby, cause he looks like a manager that really cares about her wellness not her ability to make more and more money), she'll have the support she needs while making it. This opinion was heavily inspired by the 'Amy' documentary I saw yesterday. The most important thing for an artist is to have the ability to work how, with whoever, whenever etc. he/she wants to and not the fame or success. Of course, Gaga has already had the success and if she wants to she'll get the fame again and again. But it doesn't look like it's the most important thing to her anymore. , IMO. But I do think Gaga could do it successfully. Gaga could easily do it, she is a prodigiously strong vocalist and songwriter. But her and Adele come from two different places. The reason why Adele is so massively popular, apart from her stellar voice, is the fact that her songs are so general. They are specific in certain minor details, but straightforward and general enough that anyone could project their own experiences onto it. And that's great. But Gaga doesn't tend to write that way, and that's also great.

Yes, Gaga is more artistic and abstract with her lyrics. But just imagine an original Gaga album with Oscar performance type of vocals. That could potentially be even more impressive than anything Adele has done.

But people who think that that's enough to break through just don't get how Adele's entire (non-)persona helped massively in even encouraging people to talk about her. She was the anti-pop star, the antithesis of pop acts around that time and that was her golden ticket to fame. Ok, this post is so eerie because I was actually gonna make a thread titled "Is Adele the anti-Gaga?" lmao.

Honestly, I think Born This Way alone is more impressive than anything Adele has done, musically and artistically. Gaga has many different colors to her voice (ranging from pop to R&B to rock to musical theatre, etc) and the range she has shown throughout her discography isn't so impressive unless you try to imagine any of her contemporaries doing it too. Adele has that one emotive, open-throated sound that she does does so well. Gaga can do that, and much more.
Hexxx 2,244
I swear if Gaga's lead single was a ballad it would give her so much talent recognition. Lady Gaga/ Madonna/Lana /Azealia Banks/ Jazmine Sullivan/ DEEE-LITE/ Moko

PMKKARDASHiAN 8,570
Am I the only one who remembers gaga at her height, and can say she was BIGGER than adele..?? (not albums sold, but as a whole). Will gaga ever be as big as adele now? Probably not. Will she be as big as she used to be? Probably not, but I hope. Will she remain one of the biggest superstars in the industry that left a legacy and changed a genre and influenced a generation? Most certainly. Mariano 958
nah Adele is simply special in her own way, no one else will sell like her, definitely not Gaga. The same way Gaga had such a huge peak that even Adele couldn't reach (celeb wise) cuz Gaga was (still is) special at the time and there was no one else like her. That goes (for both of them) from their looks, voices, music, performance, personalities, everything.
REALITY 76,323
They're two very different singers, and while I respect and love Adele, Gaga is her own kind of artist. Adele's popular because of her amazing vocals and the "only female artist today that doesn't flaunt their body"—quotations because other artists like that exists, like Sia. Gaga has always and will always be known for her outlandish costumes and shock value, even though she has toned it down a bit during the past year. They're both amazing in their own right, but I wouldn't try to compare them. I believe—don't quote me on this—that Gaga even said that she doesn't like to be compared and that she's her own artist. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
