My source is Business Insider and MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index ... Lol over these prestigious sources you give a random website with no international reputation at all...

The webpage relies on the official numbers of the city in berlin :)

Master Card Global Destination Cities Index was out in June, so they estimate the whole year's total by first 6 months' data. Numbers can vary, but since 2009, they were never wrong about top 10 ....

I don't know german so I can't say anything... These data regards international visitors... So tourists from the same country is not counted...

Even if Berlin had 9.2 M, what made you think that it was Top 3 in Europe ?

So you agree that your numbers are false :)

Well, some don't consider Istanbul as part of Europe in some datas.

Second link is to compare 2014 rank of MasterCard to exact data. It is the same. You can see 2014 rank of MasterCard on page 8 of their report, in square brackets.

No, I don't agree. The year did not end, nobody could do such ranking with exact numbers. MasterCard GDCI is very prestigious report, conducted by doctors. And It is always very accurate. They use the first 6 months' data for these projections, it is not based on nothing...

Also Istanbul was the 3rd most visited city of Europe in 2014 too...

Some are very wrong then, it is not something subjective that people can have different opinions about if it is in Europe or not... There is a 3M difference between Istanbul's numbers and Berlin's numbers, and considering Istanbul's number of visitors grow by about 10% every year, it is very unlikely that Berlin will replace it...

They are not wrong, there's one big difference in gathering data here:

1. As AlphaMonster said, for the list only FOREIGN visitors are counted. So no Germans visiting Berlin and no Americans visiting New York.

2. The 9,2 Mio. visitors for Berlin are foreigners + Germans

Therefore, Berlin doesn't appear in the Top 3.

3. If they would use data including foreigners + local people, half of the list would be Chinese cities because there's a huge Tourism boom inside China going on (my guess why they didn't do it haha) [same for India, but smaller scale]

4. Istanbul, geographically speaking, is part of Europe and at the same time not because the city has parts on the European and the Middle Eastern side of the Bosporus. So it should be fine it they include it in any "Europe" ranking but I can see your point.

I have been to 16/20 of those cities.

Istanbul, Milan, Amsterdam & Los Angeles missing.

The first three I will target in 2016 :yay: (is LA worth visiting? I would rather go another time to San Francisco tbh)

In my opinion, No... LA is not worth visiting unless you live in North America...

Ok that's what I thought too:derpga:

Not surprised that Vienna is on the list. The city is packed right now, full of Russian & Asian tourists enjoying the nice Christmas markets.

la is only worth it if you're really into movies and stuff or want to see a celebrity or 2. you can go to the theme parks which are really fun but expensive. i loved LA so much when i visited there but it really isnt for everyone.

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.
