I probably could have phrased my opinion better. This conversation would have been much shorter.

Well, we made it without insulting each other so I consider it a GGD success.

I'm glad that you guys resolved it, but please bring in-depth discussions that are slightly off-topic to a new thread, a PM, or a status. Thanks!

Paulson is just a cryface actress lol that's why she never wins. cheap impressions.

I mean..

I'm not pissed she's nominated for these things, but she just doesn't belong in these lists. I mean, the fact that she's nominated instead of Sarah Paulson for this show. Unacceptable.

Edit: Ok, apparently Sarah couldn't even be nominated for this award because of insufficient screentime, but I still don't think Gaga's worthy of even being nominated (not because she's a bad actress but because her role doesn't even allow her to be a good actress in more than a few well written scenes).

I'm very happy that Gaga is nominated but I have to agree, to some extent.

I think Flicker is the direction that they should steer Gaga in. Fair enough that she was given the role of Elizabeth, it might not be easy to execute that character and yet showcase one's talent but there are definitely WAYS to achieve that. The effort doesn't just need to come from Gaga but the writers themselves.

So maybe (and hopefully) they'll pull an Asylum for Elizabeth. When I was watching Asylum, the moment I got stunned by Sister Jude was when she totally went insane after she was being mistreated and humiliated. That sudden twist is one of the biggest factors I think why people liked that season. So hopefully the lack of emotion in Elizabeth in the first few episodes is intentional, to build up the impression we have on The Countess so that later changes will surprise us. I don't care if this tactic has been used by Asylum before, I want to see Gaga do it.
