Uhm... Paulson isn't the lead actress. She's barely had as much screen time as Kathy or Chloe Sevigny. I'm not sure if you understand how awards work.

I'm not sure if I understand either but if actors are just nominated at random like this then I sure as hell don't wanna know more about them.

I can't understand why you're being so ridiculously negative and obnoxious. If the International Press say she deserves it, you should take that into consideration when giving your personal opinion. Sarah Paulson is great but I've never heard of an award where nominations are given out to whomever has an appearance on a show. There's always different subcategories and expectations for things like screen time and genre. And being nominated alone is a symbol of respect for actors, why diminish this achievement for Gaga? Weird.

Random? Just because Gaga is nominated, it does not mean this list is random. These actresses and their shows are typically on peoples minds during awards season. These shows, including AHS frequently get acting nominations across many award shows because they are known throughout the industry to be of a certain quality. Most attention goes to these actors because there are high expectations for them. If it wasn't Gaga nominated, it would be Kathy, however, she probably doesn't have enough on-screen minutes to qualify.

You should probably have a basic understanding of something before spewing your negative opinion in such a way.

I don't understand your point of view either. I mean, above you say that it doesn't even matter if she's good or not because she's just the lead actress and she'll be nominated anyway.

And btw, the international press is not at all unanimous in praising Gaga lmfao. Now I personally think Gaga isn't even to blame and it's the writers' fault (though she does have some amazing scenes, esp. in the latest episode where she nailed it 90% of the time) but when I look at her competition in this category, hell yeah I think it's foolish for her to be up there. That's just my opinion, I don't see how it's diminishing anything. If I could diminish achievements just by saying I think they're undeserved in my own personal perspective, I guess I would rule the world by now.

Never did I say it doesn't matter if she's good or not, that's something you inferred. There's categories, and then a select few who are deserving are nominated from those categories. This isn't my opinion but a system that's been in place since the beginning.

Your personal opinion is fine. But when you're making judgments with an admitted lack of knowledge, that's an issue.

Aw, that's great news. I'm so proud of her. The Satellite Awards are pretty credible and make cool choices, as in it's not always the usual suspects every year.

When did I even do that though? If this is all about me saying Sarah should've been nominated instead, I didn't know this floppy award system didn't allow anyone but a lead actor/actress to be in this "Best Actress" category (in my experience, usually there's a lead/supportive section, not that I think Gaga should've been nominated for a lead role either) but even then, I think it was abundantly clear that I was just expressing a personal opinion so I think this discussion really revolves around nothing but you not being willing to accept my opinion for what it is tbh. I don't even think that much of my own opinion so maybe that can satisfy you.

I'm sorry but were you not judging the merit of this award and her nomination? That's all I'm referring to and as I've said, you've misunderstood how a typical award system works in the film industry. Her nomination is very much based in merit. Sorry I corrected you and found fault with your obnoxious attitude about her nomination (this too being just my personal opinion).

This is where I find your opinion strange though... this award is much different than the People's Choice Awards. It's much harder to discredit her nomination here because these are industry people, with experience and knowledge of film, who have voted for her to be nominated amongst those other names. Whereas the PCA nominations are purely driven by marketing and public opinion. There's really no comparison. Despite her competition in the Sattelite category being so much more experienced and accomplished, she's still very much deserving of being there based on the process of selecting they have in place. The PCA nomination is the only nomination to be debated but it's not even worth the time.
