BloodyM 1,256
I get your point. I grew up as a P!nk fan girl and I can see what you're trying to say. Fame wise they are very similar, Try This is the true P!nk album, which 'flopped', as as Gaga's ARTPOP. Also they mostly write their own tunes and are both greatly unappreciated from gp just because they have a different look, as simple as that. They are both writing new albums atm, A collaboration would be very interesting tbh!!
PUKKIE 457
Their story line is similar , but their music is abv not. Yall just love trolling one another. The creator of this thread ,m sure did not mean their SOUND is the same. Goddamn
mee 381
They both so different like night and day. Pink was always like more the rebellious rockish version of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera. So she was an alternative to the sober girly girls. You can comapre her image and her audience with Avril Lavigne. But Pink is much more talented then Avril. Pink not really broke the rules, she always worked with the famoust mainstream producers which worked also for the sober girly girls, but she writes her own lyrics, that's a plus. But her sound is very generic and very radio friendly, her themes and the musical packaging are perfect for the masses. Gaga is complete antother artist, her influences came from avantgarde and underground and quotes from past fashion and music eras....mixed with technolgy and futuristic androgyn concepts. This all she translated for the mass market. She writes her own lyrics and produces, she makes also mainstream music, but not in a generic way, most of her songs are more original because they used much more playful productions and clever metaphosr. She used shock effects - but not in a childish way like Kesha or Miley Cyrus - more in a very aesthetic and artistic way with meaning behind it ( in ARTPOP era she forgot that and used also the very childish and cheap shocking effects , like for example the puke thing and R.Kelly SNL performance, that was more childish and Kesha & Miley-like.... but someone who understand the differences will roll his eyes ) Gaga is a real chameleon as an artist, remember how she shocked everybody with the Oscar performance So they both can't be more different. Glamourpuss 29,062
They are both completely different artists. However I admire them both because they are similar in that they are strong women who create what they want to create and don't sell out by duetting with anyone who is hot at the moment in the charts. In other words, they don't need to try so hard because they have talent. Music not the bling.
freebit 6,240
Pink is much more palatable as an artist to the average person, Gaga is riskier and more polarizing. Pink relates to you, whereas Gaga wants to make you think. Both are very talented, but their tastes, influences & overall goals seem different. Though I'm not a big fan of the music Pink makes, I think she has an enviable career, and I'd love for Gaga to have a similar level of success over such a long period of time. I admire that she comes, does her thing, and lives her public life in a low-key way.
giskardsb 12,565
Both are excellent and two shining examples of what can happen when musicians are allowed to control themselves verses label generated writing team market driven puppets. Schwerk 7,244
Their art isn't that simular but their drive and passion is. They are both very in tune with what they want as an artist. They are genuine and passionate and take risks. And they are themselves and never slack off. They take their talent seriously and make the most of it. They also both got rejected and dissappointed by the industry early in their carreer but stayed true to their art. I hope for them to team up sometime, I think their voices would sound awesome together. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
