Well Gaga did describe Venus as a space rock disco song and based on the verses and the imagery...it kinda has a dark tone

I hope we get more of that on LG5

Gaga even described some of BTW as "gas station disco" and some songs that gave me that vibe were Heavy Metal Lover, Government Hooker, and Born This Way

They have that similar vibe and beat that you can see someone pointing up and down to :laughga:

Dark disco would be Synthpop + Disco. Synthpop is the more "abstract" genre and is notorious for its filthy/dirty and dark sounding beats while disco has the dance and upbeat elements.

To get a good idea of what synthpop is you can check Depeche Mode. Their music is focused to only synthpop. Also, Gags herself has some synthpop: Venus, Sex Dreams, DWUW, DITD, Alejandro, Teeth (not sure tho), Government Hooker, Scheiße.

Yes please.

it wasn't laaaahv

If there's inspiration, it's not from Disco music at all.

This is Late Disco

This is Post-Disco

etc. It would take forever to give examples

But the track you mentioned is the other part of the 80's. Post-Punk!! So it's very different idea, not that it won't merge at some point

it's electro disco pop with baroque touch(it has a clip with a disco bal in black and white so composer of the song also thinks its disco-disco influenced)land without a funky guitar and here is the obvious influence

Ok it has that Kitsch Pop Baroque thing and it's a bit Art Rock inspired. Well it's new wave inspired.

But you win, that synth at 00:14 is more oriented in what you say. But the bass is a bit too dark. So, bottom line,  there's  indeed Disco influence in it.
