This is what I'm talking about when I say black rappers have a much easier ride than white rappers (the trash that was Anaconda got nominated last year too). Whatever rubbish rap they put out can actually get nominated for the highest awards, meanwhile white rappers who actually release decent stuff get called "not rap" and "taking over black music" when they dare to get nominated and people like Macklemore and Iggy get flack for being white. Well, all the nominees this year are black, so no talk about whites taking over, ok? At least most of the nominations this year are decent, however. What on earth is Florence doing in the pop category? What Kind Of Man was nominated in rock, why isn't this one? I wouldn't exactly class the album as rock but it's definitely not pop. Unfair that's it's nominated in the wrong categories. And why is Ship To Wreck put under Best Group Performance? Florence is a soloist! "The Machine" is her band, but no one even considers them, it's all her! Didn't anyone in the academy do any RESEARCH when they sat their degrees in music? Shameful! To think these are supposed to be people who know what they're talking about! How in the name of all that is holy did Kelly Clarkson get nominated for anything, least of all 2 major categories? Her album and songs were a flop this year and weren't exactly critically acclaimed. Pop music is actually starting to get better again and this is the best they could come up with?! Did they just feel sorry for her because her career's going downhill or something? How can a song that peaked at #18 (Girl Crush), #81 (Alright) and failed to chart at all (Really Love) possibly get nominated for Song and Record of the Year? I know it's supposed to be all about quality but these are some of the most random choices I've ever seen! They make no sense! They look as if they were selected by one superfan, not a committee! Unless they've been thrown in to give other nominees a better chance of winning? Alabama Shakes? Chris Stapleton? Jesus, Grammys, we know you're American based, but pick someone we know! Don't get all the hype over Kendrick. Probably never will. If he wants to make an album about race issues, can't he do it in an easy to understand way, and without pretension? I mean, I consider myself decently intelligent but I can barely make head nor tail of his work. And of course, will we ever be free of the curse of Taylor Swift? 10 nominations overall for this awful album. Well, SIO didn't win anything last year, so with any luck, it might not happen this year either. I really dislike how the Grammys were all about commercial performance and word of mouth with her nominations in particular. They only nominated her songs that went to #1 (Style and Wildest Dreams were good and the latter is definitely what the Grammys like but neither of these songs went to #1, so they're not good enough?) and Bad Blood gets best video just because it had all those ceelbrity cameos and was talked about heavily, as opposed to being artistically brilliant? Gag me. So many snubs. Ariana deserved noms for Problem and Love Me Harder (the latter even has a Weeknd feature and the academy are loving him, so what gives?) Demi deserved noms Cool For The Summer, Carly Rae deserved noms in at least 3 categories, Meghan should've got something for Dear Future Husband, Fifth Harmony should have got something for Worth It, Rachel Platten for Fight Song...Maddie + Tae should have got a nom for Girl In A Country Song in the country category and Halestorm and Muse should have got in the rock categories too. The academy seems to have forgotten all about Joss Stone. And as usual, Lana should have owned these awards but gets snubbed again. At least Gaga got something, which is a good sign of things to come. If she's getting noms and wins for side projects, can you imagine what she'll gets noms for with a solo centrepiece? IF it gets nominated for a Grammy it isn't deserving of a Grammy. Grammys are for those who don't get nominated for Grammys I'm very cool because i don't like the mainstream stuff. Gag The Grammys don't get to just nominate at will. Artists send in what they want to be considered from their work and then the committee nominates from that.
