She has the fastest selling album of all time, she broke the internet with a 30 second clip, and broke the VEVO record with a 6 minute stripped back video, she changed the tide in the music industry in a time when pop was dominating and ushered in a new, mellow, more reserved type of music... I think it's safe to say that she's a legend.

Well, yeah. It's all about cultural impact and how ones presence alone affects what others do and how the music industry is. THAT'S what makes Gaga the Queen AND Legend. But Adele also fits in this category.

All of those things you mentioned are part of sales and SUCCESS. Also her sound is nothing new. She only moved a few artists for a short period of time to be more "mellow". Now like I said, she has no memorable iconic moments, and she hasn't really brought anything new to the music industry. She has talent, but she is not original.

Obviously sales don't make someone a legend, but it is a huge factor. If you can replicate those sales, as Adele has done, then it's safe to say that a lot of people love your music, and people liking your music, especially at these records, usually equates to a legend.

Maybe it's one of the factors. Like idg the appeal of The Beatles but they were a huge seller at their time and now are considered legends (not saying they have bad quality music since they won grammys). Most of the legends were actually huge sellers such as MJ, Mariah, Whitney, Madge.  So yeah, sales kind of matters, though there are artists considered legends there that were not big sellers.

You're correct, but this applies to "one hit wonders" .... which Adele very evidently is not.

I did not say she was a one hit wonder. And she may became a legend one day. I just do see her as one yet for the reasons I mentioned.

@Enigma Merged your thread into here :) Please make posts within threads, don't make a whole new thread for your post to another thread (I hope that makes sense) because it's not necessary :omg:

Omg reading these comments, GGD is already turning on Adele.

This is faster than they turned on Taylor.

Grab your weaves pop divas, no one is safe from GGD.
