lmao dude, I remember back in the day first listening to the album, it was a smooth ride. Nothing gave me "OMG so groundbreaking" goosebumps. Try being Gaga and wanting to release Aura as a single, k hunty.

In an earlier comment I had specified that I was speaking about the DWUW mini-era-thing. The video and the promo for the song incorperated lots of comments from the media to convey that she doesn't care what negative things the media say about her. She obviously thought it was a powerful concept herself because she used it consistently during the song's lifespan(twitter meltdown, performances, video, etc etc). That's the artistic equivalent of saying you don't care while having an actual meltdown over it.

 

This isn't a response to criticism of her art, it's a response to people insulting LG herself. You don't do things like this if you think the negativie comments aren't worth caring about. That's what I was saying.

I don't really see how her caring that her song isn't charting very well in a country makes her less of an artist? Why wouldn't you want your music to do well?  Also, there is such thing as "music AND the bling", those two things aren't mutually exclusive  You can have both

3. if you don't think the vast majority of singers doesn't care about how their music is doing on their charts Gaga isn't some Bjork-like alternative super indie weird and inaccessible artist who truly doesn't give a ****. she does, as was evident with some of the meltdowns during ARTPOP (the "show me your iTunes receipts" contest anyone?) even the BTW discount. and there is nothing wrong with that, nor with wanting your music to do the best it can on the charts. especially if it's a pop singer.

I understand that artists do care about charts but she's so bratty about it and so dramatic it makes me cringe. Love ET, wouldnt say its much of a different sound for her though
