I really dislike how devoid of any warmth with commercial is. I mean, I'm not a huge fan of christmas songs/albums and the sort, but at least when some do it there is a sense of humanity there. It's Christmas with loved ones, it's getting a gift for someone special, it's cosying up around the fire.

This is just gaudy looking giant gingerbread men, candy canes, Katy on a sled acting like royalty, hot man on expensive car as gift, giant christmas decorations and presents, snowflakes, Katy popping out of a present and Katy being some sort of Christmas fairy that awkwardly flies around. It's just so vapid and doesn't make me feel anything.

At least with Gaga and Tony's H&M commercial they were in some cruise ship where people were celebrating together, families where giving gifts to their children and there was a dog dressed in reindeer antlers. Gaga sang jazz while everyone on the cruise ship celebrated together and then Gaga closed the box and it was actually a present full of christmas cheer to give out. There was this sense of actual human celebration and togetherness.

In the recent Barnes and Nobles commercial Gaga and Tony where singing it's cold outside while trying to find the perfect gift for each other. Then they bump into each other and embrace with smiles on their faces because they are spending time with those they love. It was very human and touching.

This commercial is just so void of any humanity and warmth, it lacks any humanity and is just all about Katy and presents and gingerbread men and candy. The props and costumes are tacky and the white background with those awful clashing Christmas colours did them no favours visually and just emphasised how far removed from people, places and loved ones this was. 

The "magic" of Christmas in this commercial is candy, elves and presents rather than love and the act of giving like so many traditional Christmas stories tell us. In short it's just lazy, unattractive and vapid.

It makes me uncomfortable how much of a production she has to make everything. 

Whereas the B&N ad had nothing, just 2 people looking for a book. It's always an extravaganza with Katy and it really makes it feel disconnected and forced. Kinda like her tour

I loved it. and contrary to what most of you think I think she's really growing mature. This, although it features her as a fairy of some sorts, she pulled it off on a serious note and it looks like a million bucks.
