When this elderly woman leaves prison she will undoubtedly remain steadfast in her belief that the Holocaust never happened. Since you support the imprisonment of individuals who hold radically unpopular opinions what do you suggest we do after she is released? She received ten months in prison, would you rather she have receive more time? What about a life sentence, or capital punishment?

I never said I support the imprisonment of individuals who hold radically unpopular opinions- just the one's that are trying to influence other's into their own racist or otherwise hateful views. 10 months seems like more than enough time. When they continue to have these beliefs it goes beyond simply being hateful and more related to a mental illness which I think they should be evaluated with before they plan on sending them to prison. Those white kids you hear about shooting up places are as racist as they are mentally insane. Honestly who wouldn't after being raised by such racist/republican parents sticking their beliefs down their throats

It is a belief. Sorry, I'm American so I'm inclined to not support the incarceration of people for their ideas no matter how much I disagree with them.

Very 1984.

youre american. that explains why you dont get it. this is their country where they are guilty of committing such gruesome deeds, not even a century ago. it affected their legacy history and culture deeply

If you been through the same as my granny (which I highly don't hope) you can make those statements (Eventhough it's still discussable). If not don't tell her to grow a thick skin. She probably even have thicker thin than you considering she been through one of the most tragic human events in history.

The US wrote Germany's constitution/Basic Law bud. Study up before quoting me.

Edit: Also we have freedom of speech and religion unlike most of Europe. Germany wasn't even democratic until the fall of the Berlin wall. lol.

Well I'm glad that in Europe we don't use religion in political speeches because our political don't want to bother people with their religion since Europe is a multi-religious place. :)

This turned from discussion to nationalism really quick. Let's try to keep it a legitimate and mature discussion please.
