With that being said, I don't agree with her being locked in prison for 10 months. I understand that these beliefs are the most despicable and evil sorts of beliefs one can hold, but nobody should be locked up due to how immoral and disgusting their beliefs are. It is a slippery slope to really decipher what is and isn't offensive enough to be locked up for. I'm of the opinion that jail should focus on rehabilitation of criminals rather than punishment (Even in cases when rehabilitation isn't yet possible, it should be the goal). I'm of the opinion that jail is a way to separate those who pose a significant threat to society away from communities for their protection. This law is about punishment, not rehabilitation.
