I didn't defend anyone, you obviously misunderstood. Let me quote something I read recently "Too many people missing this: Real challenge of ISIS isn't weapons or recruits. It's ideology. It takes more than bombs to defeat that." If Assad goes there is 1 real threat there and that's ISIS. There is nobody else that is grouped like they and equipped to take the spot. Assad is the lesser of 2 evils here.

I see him as bigger evil, they are connected and his crimes are the reason IS gets support from some western muslims, both need to disappear. Syria needs real leader to fight ISIS not to bomb own citizens. FreePalestine

Look how the other countries destabalised in the region when their "revolution" came.

Look how the other countries destabalised in the region when their "revolution" came. I agree about other countries, in their case different groups were left to fight for the "throne" and it led to chaos and anarchy. But in case of Syria, if we could go back in time, I wish they didn't rebel against him. It's been 4 years now and there is no going back. I read somewhere that IS and Assad are not even crossing each others paths much, they both fight against al-nusra and free syrian army. With Putin's support now, I don't even know what can be done. We're talking about an elimination of a terrorist organization that has expanded to the point of statehood in the most violent ways imaginable. They seek to continue their reign of terror and destruction and will do so without mercy. Paris is just one instance of many, and more of the same if not worse will happen in the future if they aren't stopped. This is a real threat. Stop trying to coddle it with your nonsense. once again i say violence doesnt cause anything but death. you can continue to try to belittle my opinion but youre not going to get anywhere.
