Would be great if people stopped generalizing the concept of warfare as an inherently bad thing. We're talking about an elimination of a terrorist organization that has expanded to the point of statehood in the most violent ways imaginable. They seek to continue their reign of terror and destruction and will do so without mercy. Paris is just one instance of many, and more of the same if not worse will happen in the future if they aren't stopped. This is a real threat. Stop trying to coddle it with your nonsense. It does not work like that. "If this stops it will all go away". :smh: ISIS are multiplying and recruiting THOUSANDS each day. Why cannot ya'll peace preachers realise that? There are too many evil people in this world - peace will NEVER happen. In my messy era.

wiltedbliss 915
Why can't the world just be a peaceful place where everyone is respected, and there's no violence? Makes me so sad :(
Poot 719
9 hours ago, Kayla said: I think it's because a death sentence is something imposed on a person who is already in custody who can do no more damage, and the death penalty is WAY more expensive than keeping someone locked up for life, and the death penalty also does not prevent people from committing heinous crimes. All-in-all, the death penalty does nothing to decrease crimes or keep people safe, nor does it do more to keep criminals off the streets. Bombing ISIS is different in that the members of the organization are not already in custody, so they're still able to inflict harm on innocent people. You could compare bombing ISIS to the death penalty if ISIS was confined to a single area and were unable to hurt others, but that's not the situation. And as things currently stand, you can't send French police officers into ISIS territory and place them under arrest, so other than trying to wipe them out I guess I don't know what other option could be taken. They're not a group you can organize a meeting with. They're not a group who will sign a peace treaty. I'm against war as much as the next tree-hugging liberal, but in this scenario even I am finding myself begrudgingly supporting France's decision here. i support death sentence and yes it is more expensive, but why make it expensive, in my opinion i would just let the murderer die how he killed his victims, if it's 100% sure he's not innoncent and the reason i don't support bombing regions is because there are still lots of innoncents. not everyone has the capacity to run away, not everyone has the money for that. they may say that they only started bombing 'tactical' places, but how am i supposed to trust france's words and believe there haven't been killed any innoncents? ofcourse i can't. i just don't feel it's france's place to be bombing a region. instead help the armies in syria or iraq by supporting their government. and it's not like at the end isis is a big threat to cause world war 3. because if it wouldve caused a war, isis will have been swiped down in days. they are terrorists and their goal is to make us fear by stragetically planning attacks. anyway look at how this all looks like bush' decision after 9/11. Cupid 760
This is good news. I've always been positive to a more offensive military strategy. You cannot reason with terrosists and while preaching for peace etc is a nice thought it's very naive these days and the moment we stop pressuring ISIS they will seize the opportunity to become stronger. They need to be constantly wekaned to the point that they won't be able to keep killing innocent people both in Syria and via terror attacks around the world. NotNightwing 1,710
You guys know that France has been doing this since september right? This is nothing new. Gagamel 3,410
Smh at responses like "is this evolution? what has this world come to?". This is currently the least violent time of the human kind. There used to be no days without at least 10 wars happening with hundreds of thousands of people dying DAILY due to war. Now when like 500 people die you think humans are horrible, awful creatures. Also, no, bombing ISIS won't lead to WW3

In areas that are already under their rule, we've seen consistent persecution of minorities, including mass killings. This will continue, on an even greater scale, if ISIS is allowed to spread. In the short-term, a military operation against ISIS would cause civilian casualties, yes, but we will be saving civilian lives in the long run. Which would you rather choose?
