Allowing civilians to be killed by ISIS while doing nothing to try to stop it is just as bad as accidentally killing civilians in bombings. I would just say that for now France should withdraw its military troops 'cause the situation is really bad. They should focus on their country, on the security. That's more important than anything else.

But then my question is... do we do nothing, secure our own borders, and let minorities in ISIS territory get slaughtered? We are not really helping the minorities now tho, these bombs are just for revenge...for that we would need ground troops and somehow try to evacuate civilians, but that is not even possible. Drones and bombs don't distinguish between civilian and a militant. I don't know really. FreePalestine
Solitaire 902
I think this attack will be looked back upon as a political tipping point.. I know a ton of people in the US are extremely upset about what happened to our French allies and are wishing we'd go more offensive on ISIS (although I think it was announced today that the US backed attack on one of the ISIS strongholds was a success and we took the city in 48 hours so ) I heard on CNN today that there's talk of NATO getting together to discuss the potential of a united front against ISIS..... If that happens, I don't think ISIS will last but a few months at the most, NATO isn't a group to mess around with. Yes it's very sad that there might be innocent people in these attack zones, but I know the western allies will do their best to keep civilian casualties down. The people of the Middle East shouldn't be burdened with the treat of ISIS any longer. - Previously Sycothisis

And they will use every civilian casualty as propaganda tool to show how the West is evil and it will help them recruit more naive fools who think they are just defending muslims. What do you think should be done? These terrorists see non-Muslims and occidental countries as a threat no matter what so what do you think is a better idea to stop them? Sakrai 4,759
I understand this whole game. We go to their countries, we destroy them, we destabilize their economy, perform a cultural rape, and then when they get mad because they are literally living in a **** country that's been stomped over several times, they retaliate and then they're the monsters. What they did is horrible and it's unacceptable, but the reason they exist is because we (the west) created them by our reckless actions against them for decades. It is war that made them exist. It is war that made them attack Paris, and we just keep going through this cycle of war back and forth. So bomb them, and destroy them. But for ****s sake let's learn from this and don't ever be so ****ing irresponsible again. Oh, I'm just visiting-

Of course it is also very important to get rid off all the supporters of any islamistic terror group in our countries, f. e. my homeland Germany. Help the Arab countries around to fight them in other ways, idk. They are killing muslims there too, those who don't have their ideology. If faced with an enemy that you knew would not surrender, if they attacked you, would you not retaliate? The targets were military; this wasn't indiscriminate bombing of civilians like the US carried out against Germany during WW2. And actually, there have been successes on a smaller scale, evacuating some of the Yazidi from a mountain where they were trapped; we could use ground troops to contain ISIS and protect yet unconquered civilian populations, combined with civilian evacuations and targeted clearing operations in ISIS-controlled territory. Worst case scenario, some ISIS members slip through the cracks, but those who do will have their organization destabilized, and will be less able to carry out organized territory-taking operations such as they have been. Lego, I'm very sorry to burst the bubble you seem to live in, but ISIS won't stop their war against us: "ISIL has detailed its goals in its Dabiq magazine, saying it will continue to seize land and take over the entire Earth : “blessed flag…covers all eastern and western extents of the Earth, filling the world with the truth and justice of Islam and putting an end to the falsehood and tyranny of jahiliyyah [state of ignorance], even if American and its coalition despise such.” According to German journalist Jürgen Todenhöfer, who spent ten days embedded with ISIL in Mosul, the view that he kept hearing was that ISIL wants to “conquer the world” and all who do not believe in the group’s interpretation of the Koran will be killed. Todenhöfer was struck by the ISIL fighters belief that “all religions who agree with democracy have to die”, and by their "incredible enthusiasm"—including enthusiasm for killing "hundreds of millions" of people." In my opinion the intervention is not their only motive to hate and harm Western countries/culture. Their beliefs say that they should cast terror into infidels and that unbelievers should be punished. If they really believe in those things then the Western world will never be safe with them around, with or without intervention.
