We've done well thus far with the million of mexicans that have illegally come into the country. I think Europe should be able to handle a few thousand. The US is already the largest full for immigration in the world, and Europe criticizes us everyday for it ("you can't build a wall", "you're racist", etc.)

I'm glad the refugee crisis is at least showing the true colors of where Europe stands on immigration.

In fact there were Jewish refugees during WW2 who gone with a ship to the US and US send them back again which also resulted that the majority of them died.

You do know that there are million refugees coming to Germany alone this year ? Normal immigrants are not included on that. Fancy that 1 million refugees in a state that is really small and already has a population of 80 million. By the way you act like European countries aren't immigration countries while every third person in germany has migration back ground.

I've been to Germany. They have countryside and areas that are not as dense as the major cities. 

Merkel sent out the open door message, so there must be space for a million extra people and money to provide for them. They should build new apartment complexes for the refugees. That could create jobs and training for the refugees. Kind of a Habitat for Humanity program, like what is used in the US.

These "normal immigrants" are coming to escape extreme poverty and violence in their own countries. They come to the US needing the same thing that refugees are needing...shelter, food, education for their children, healthcare needs, employment, etc. 

There are also 11 million undocumented immigrants who have given birth to 5.5 million children, who all become lifelong American citizens. (and their children and children's children...)

The Pew Report predicts the population of the United States will rise from 296 million in 2005 to 438 million in 2050, with 82% of the increase from immigrants.

It's more dense than US lol. 

Merkel opened the door because she human enough to see that there are people in need. And I agree that new apartment complexes need to build. The rents in the bigger city skyrocket

You have problem with 10k when only Finland expects 15-30k asylum seekers. Sweden up to 190k.

And Republicans and some of you who seem to agree with them, have issue with 10k! And plus you agree with European countries like Poland or Hungary who don't want them at all. "You look after them! But I understand if you shut the door...just let them drown or send them back under our bombs".

Germany could take a potion of the three million documented, undocumented and birthright citizens the US takes in every year. Most of these immigrants come from extreme poverty and need immediate services just like refugees. The US takes in refugees, as well, and unlike Germany...they become citizens and are able to work any children they have become automatic citizens. The US takes in the economic refugees from their area of the world, while still taking in immigrants and refugees from other areas of the world. The Syrian refugees were safe in Turkey and other areas, so they are essentially economic refugees coming to Germany. They are looking for a better life than living in poverty, which is the same situation that the US has with the majority of the documented and undocumented immigrants coming from Central America. Immigrants who are also fleeing from violence in their country.

No, I was simply addressing the space comment. 

I don't agree with the Republicans. 

I've never said let anyone drown or send them back to be bombed. They are coming from safe areas, not directly from Syria...but I certainly don't blame them for going to Germany to find a better life. They were invited, so they went. (I do believe they should be able to work, though...to help with integration. They should be given citizenship once their documentation checks out.) That will help integrate them into their new country.) Don't try to put words in my mouth.

I like many of our American members, they're really intelligent and open minded, so I hope they don't take this criticism to heart.

Change their system, how? Build a wall? Deny birthright citizenship? Deny refugees and immigrants the right to work or an education? Explain.
