I'm sure she'll come back strong after her break but I don't think she'll make the same splash she made with 1989.  I could be wrong, though.

Look at what happened with Adele.  People thought her long break could hurt her and she came back stronger than ever breaking all sorts of records.  Although, Taylor Swift is no Adele.  I don't think Adele's records will be broken any time soon.

In terms of sales

FEARLESS was literally deemed a huge deal , it sold around 9M copies worldwide , won album of the year grammy. A lot of people deemed it her peak and that she won't be able to top it. Then came 1989, tbh the only difference is 1989 spawned more successful singles and better tour sales. If Taylor comes back with a GREAT COUNTRY album it could flip people's expectations as they now assume the next record to be pop. I think now more than ever that she has an acclaim of a Pop star she can shine a greater light on the country genre.

And as you said about Adele coming back stronger, who knows maybe 25 might outsell 21 , considering it's being predicted 3 Million copies in it's first week let alone Hello charting on the number 1 chart on literally all charts.

imo she is still going to be huge because she is going to be riding the 1989 wave on top of her usual massive sales, but I don't think next era is going to be as big. I'm predicting something Speak Now sized but with more hits/impact

who will love me when the night is over

Yeah, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.  Things may work out in Taylor's favor and she may come back bigger than she is now, or she may have a normal era where she isn't huge like she is now but she's still producing hits and her touring numbers, in terms of sales, are still quite impressive.  There's really no way to foresee the future.  We'll just have to sit tight and enjoy what comes our way.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

She won't stand a chance of bettering 1989's success, no way. You can't have two back to back 8 million sellers, not in today's industry. Even if she does make another pop album, I don't think the world wants to see a pop female have two massive eras consecutively. I notice that US radio also tend to support a different artist every era. They were all over the likes of Gaga, Rihanna, Katy, etc. for 1-2 eras and then seemed to drop them gradually/completely. We saw Gaga get all those hits with TF/TFM but then really have to fight for hits after that. We saw Rihanna have a #1 and big hit every album to struggling to get any hits at all. And we saw Katy go from 6 #1's and 2 top 10's from one album to having just 2 #1's and one top 10 with the follow-up. Don't even get me started on the likes of Britney, Xtina and J-Lo. Lately, we're even seeing new, young artists like Ariana take an unexpected misstep chart-wise despite all those hits with her last album. So, I could definitely see Taylor go back to being more of an albums artist but with a lot less single success, the way she used to be. 3 #1's and 2 top 10's is going to be almost impossible to equal or better next time. She's going to be way too over-exposed if she releases yet another album next year too. She needs to wait until 2017 at least.
