ReidOne 12,427
This is so sad. I graduated from University o Missouri (MIzzou) 2005...
ReidOne 12,427
Take it from me... Columbia, Missouri is NOT a racist town!!! It is the liberal core of Missouri. This is not representative of the whole community. I've not lived there in 10 years (but my best friend still does) and this is just craziness. Not representative of the community at all. It's so sad.

Wake up, lol.... Just saying, don't judge all of Missouri on the actions of a few. Especially Columbia, MO (which is largely outcast from the rest of the state for their largely loving/accepting views on humanity). There's no other city in America that embodies the spirit of "Born This Way" more than Columbia, MO!!! Don't let this incident fool you.

ReidOne 12,427
As someone who spent my formative college years in Columbia, MO, in truly pains me to see that this generation is getting a very misguided view of what this community is all about. As someone who grew up as a gay person in avery religious-zealot-minded small town outside of Columbia, moving to Columbia for college was an enlightening experience!!! This is an incredibly community in America's heartland. Yes, there are some hillbilly racists who come there also, but the community as a whole is the embodiment of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" message. It's so sad that this incident is painting another picture based on the actions of a very small minority. This is my ***HOME*** we're talking about. Of course I'm passionate about defending it
ReidOne 12,427
As a reminder, the Mizzou football team is the first in the nation to produce an NFL-drafted openly gay player (Michael Sam). This is an incredibly progressive community, right smack in the middle of America.

I'm happy that you had a good experience there but that doesn't mean that other people have as well. The only thing racism and unacceptance have in mind is that they're both under the negative category. “For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic.
