To my knowledge at least the EU isn't running extensive background checks on these people. Maybe you can enlighten us.

MJHolland 12,725
Also, there should be riots. The tragedies in France were avoidable. It was the government's own fault and the people of France should hold them accountable.

You guys really hope these thinks happen, because you are more worried about "proving a point" than innocent people dying... One of the terrorists was already living in France, if you weren't aware of it... Not giving refugees shelter is inhumane... But you only care about the lives of people you identify with, I guess But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

The attack was predicted by not only me but hundreds of other commentators. This isn't about proving a point. It's about applying commonsense logic to policy making decisions. The refugees are and will continue to be too dangerous to be harbored in Europe. We should be stabilizing the region itself (not taking away its moderate and working class base) and establishing shelters within the effected countries. It's as simple as that. I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything for the refugees. And just because I was right doesn't make me a terror-wishing fear monger. Have a nice day. You going back to this post just to type "I'm not gonna say I told you so, but I freakin told you so..." was an insensitive move and you know it... They are already trying to "stabilize the region" by attacking complete areas, meanwhile you want people to stay at home and wait for the next attack from the US trying to save them, by attacking big areas... Yes, it's sadly dangerous to harbour refugees, because this disgusting organization is taking advantage of the situation, but leaving refugees stranded is NOT the right choice... Were you also against the hashtag #PorteOuverte when people were looking for shelter after the attacks in Paris, because attackers could easily disguise themselves as victims to enter homes and attack from within? No one says it's easy, but it's the right thing to do But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

Saying what's blatantly obvious shouldn't be frowned upon just because some people are going to get upset. Having this conversation in policy making is going to save lives. I could give a rat's a** if you think I'm being insensitive. And I wouldn't like to take the U.S.'s approach to stabilizing the area. I would like to push the UK's proposal to establish safe havens throughout Syria so we don't let hundreds of thousands of potentially dangerous radicals into Europe. It's common sense. You mean potentially saving lives by minimazing risks, while actually letting people die outside your country... Refugees already have a 30% chance of dying when coming, do you think anyone who is not in desperate need of help would embark in that "journey"? After all that turmoil of trying to find a place, you want to simply say: Not my problem, go back to your country and wait for us to wipe out evil, you might die in the process, either by your enemies or friendly fire... What happened in Paris is absolutely devastating... But let's please not lose perspective, this happens on a daily basis in Syria... Innocent lives are innocent lives But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

TiphEret 1,320
"Funny" but yesterday in socio class we talk about racism and especially how racism in the media is portrayed and who did we a--lyze: Trump! This speech is actually way worse than the one we a--lyzed and honestly read a transcription of his speeches. His syntax doesn't even make sense, he tends to jump from an idea to another that don't make sense together, the way he speaks is a reflection of what is going on in his mind, he clearly has no proper knowledge based on facts about what he is talking about. The problem is that the way he see Europe is so biased through his US own experience. It's alright but he should acknowledge that, shut up and not be so insensitive and full of **** when he speaks because he just seems like a joke and I am really worrying about people actually believing what he says and can actually take him seriously. People only seem to care about "sovereign nations" when they're the ones living in a privileged country... You realize one of those Syrian refugees fleeing their country could have been you, if you didn't have the luck of being born somewhere where you don't have to worry about war? When did humanity become so apathetic? I guess when there are so many people in the world we lose perspective and focus on ourselves... People dying on the other side of the globe is no different from people dying next to your home... But I'm only a man and I do what I can.
