Yes, Taylor was successful during her debut, Fearless, Speak Now, & RED eras but she only was at the top above others (because everyone else was either taking a break, touring, or writing, recording, and producing new music) during this era. 1989 has been the only era where Taylor looked like she absolutely slayed everyone. Or maybe everyone wasn't on the scene because they were hiding to stay safe & protect their work from the perfect storm (AKA Slaylor swift), because releasing music at the same time with taylor is like a career-suicide. The girl last 3 albums has sold +1M in a row, just within the first week. when will the others?

Bette Davis 12,742
I don't like her image or music but I'm not big enough of a fool to pretend she isn't an icon. Good for her though, she worked so hard to get where she is! Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

Speak Now under performed compared to Fearless, yes, but as a "flop" era it still sold more than most pop girl eras nowadays, was incredibly critically successful and yielded a sold out world tour that broke sales records of its time. It also won two Grammys. An era like 1989 is the exception, not the rule, so don't make it seem as though she was not incredibly successful for a long while in the industry. I mean, I know that you have this really unhealthy obsession with Taylor but let's keep it real lol. In 2010 and 2011, most pop girls outsold Speak Now with their albums. Gaga with The Fame Monster and Born This Way. Katy with Teenage Dream. Adele with 21. Rihanna with LOUD. And I could go on. The only album by a pop girl that I can think of which was released in those years that didn't outsell Speak Now was Britney's Femme Fatale. Taylor was like at the very bottom during those years compared to other pop girls. Your Candy Perfume Girl

Again, she wasn't slaying and wasn't at during the Speak Now era when all pop girls were releasing and were having their moments, was she? AKA all her albums. yeah 'Speak now' wasn't commercially big, but hey that just prove how much of a power she is, she didn't heavily promote the album yet it sold more than 1M in just one week, and by today it has sold more than 4.5M copies in the US alone. The queen of music doesn't need to promote ****, she's slaying while sleeping.

With her flop album, she opened with 1M+ first week sales. When will others? Katy, for example, coming off of her huge Teenage Dream era, had her sales estimations downsized three times and debuted with a fourth of Speak Now's numbers. Katy at her peak couldn't even outsell a country girl's flop album first week sales. You have said a lot of salty things but that last sentence takes the cake. who will love me when the night is over

But with their overall sales they outsold it and had more impact and longevity. So take a seat. First week sales don't show your power as much as overall sales, longevity and impact do. Speak Now wasn't a flop. I never said. But it did underperform compared to Fearless and other eras and albums by other pop girls in 2010-2011. Why you had to drag Katy out of all the examples which I provided? Is that how much tendency you have to drag her in every chance you get while you claim to like her and enjoy her songs and shows? That's the definition of a hypocrite. By the way, who cares? PRISM still debuted with higher first week sales than Teenage Dream did and is close to outsell Speak Now WW and scored two huge, monster #1 hits which were bigger, and more successful and iconic than any single from SN (or any single from Taylor's entire discography for that matter).
