She said similar things about Gaga and about many others when it was their successful time .. she's changing her mind very often tbh

Just because she is currently successful doesn't make her a modern day icon.

I don't call her debut or Speak Now eras "slaying." Yes, Taylor was successful during her debut, Fearless, Speak Now, & RED eras but she only was at the top above others (because everyone else was either taking a break, touring, or writing, recording, and producing new music) during this era. 1989 has been the only era where Taylor looked like she absolutely slayed everyone.

Tbh no matter how much you loathe her or think she hides evil behind her innocent smile. She has shown nothing but good deeds even if you think it's fake or for the sake of something else.

...so yeah well said Oprah.

...How did she "changes her mind"? Did she say that she doesn't support her statement about gaga (or whom ever) anymore?

Oprah actually said "Taylor Swift is one of the modern icons..." so she didn't praise Taylor to the seventh heaven by herself and everybody else are underneath her.

I didn't count her debut, hence why I said almost ten years. Speak Now under performed compared to Fearless, yes, but as a "flop" era it still sold more than most pop girl eras nowadays, was incredibly critically successful and yielded a sold out world tour that broke sales records of its time. It also won two Grammys. An era like 1989 is the exception, not the rule, so don't make it seem as though she was not incredibly successful for a long while in the industry. I mean, I know that you have this really unhealthy obsession with Taylor but let's keep it real lol.

To be an icon you have to have done something iconic ?

The 2009 VMAs incident is kinda iconic but does that even count?
