Racism of any kind is sick. Those students sent a clear message that it will not be accepted. Good for them. Its good to see students of every color not putting up with racism.

I don't really think this is true. I am a white looking Latino. I went to a predominantly black school and in PE while sitting down listening to the PE coach on the BBall court giving his lesson I was punched in the back of the head by two black guys just for being white. I was 11 in sixth grade and they were in both 14 in 8th. I black out because of the hit. When they were asked why I was attached the response was because I was white. They were suspended and I was moved to another PE class. My niece went through the same thing at a predominantly black elementary school where her hair was pulled because it was straight and she has to be changed from schools. When the roles are reversed and blacks are the majority the same things happen. Even with those experiences I don't think all black people are to blame and I still think blacks have it the worst alongside gays in this country when it comes to discrimination.

It was weird at first that there was a walkout because it was not explained that this was a pattern at this school that was not being dealt with. I'm glad the students are doing something.

I was a little confused also because that wasn't stated at first, but now that I see what the overall situation is I'm proud of those students.
