Christians mad over Starbucks Christmas coffee cup

I am a Christian and I couldn't care less. I mean its paper/plastic cup you are going to throw away anyway.

I love Jesus Christ but I don't expect everyone too. God gave us our own individuality for a reason....so that WE can decide what we believe. There is nothing wrong with being a faithful Christian, but you're more likely get your points across if you're NOT shoving them down someones throat.

Hey I don't want to be mean but Christmas is not that Christian, the birth of Jesus was never in December and you are deluding yourself if you think Christmas is a Christian celebration while the date was picked for political motivation (convincing pagans to give up their celebration and become Christian) and as now Christmas is all about a fat guy in red giving gifts to kids please I wish this guy could tell me what is so preciously Christian about it...And how a red cup. A cup. Is synonymous of war... dude go check Syria before using big words

Isn't it funny how the people who accuse others of being offended so quickly and being political correct SJWs are the BIGGEST and most easily offended crybabies when something doesn't go their way completely or when they are not the only group profiting from something. :laughga:

In the Christian religion, Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ by the virgin Mary, which is observed on December 25

I am aware of tat, it doesn't change the fact that Jesus was never born in December and that the way we celebrate Christmas nowadays is totally disconnected from religion but mostly based on exchanging gift with your family. Nothing wrong with that, but getting mad over a red cup for destroying Christmas spirit is a bit big when you see what Christmas is nowadays...

I dont understand this tbh... I dont understand why starbucks even changed the cups to begin wit and made them plain as hell. They were always winter themed, not christmas themed. And because of this, the christains shouldnt be getting mad.

I'd like to just comment and say that my Southern Baptist family and friends back home find this whole situation entirely laughable. So, its not all Christians. Just ones extremely insecure and out of touch with the real meaning of Christmas.

This is actually a first world problem. Many Christians in the Middle East have been martyred by extremists like ISIS. There are many problems in this world and Starbucks coffee cups is not one of them...

That was authorized by as a political move to appease the pagan masses when Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire.

http://www.whychristmas.com/customs/25th.shtml

"The Roman Festival of Saturnalia took place between December 17th and 23rd and honoured the Roman god Saturn. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti means 'birthday of the unconquered sun' and was held on December 25th (when the Romans thought the Winter Solstice took place) and was the 'birthday' of the Pagan Sun god Mithra. In the pagan religion of Mithraism, the holy day was Sunday and is where get that word from!"
