Can be really low cost. Mix craft and garage band etc are used by professionals more than you think.

The expense comes with the mic and physical instruments... but you could make Judas with just the loops off a free cd and a lq mic for $10 like she probably did.

Also don't forget the cost of studio time. Depending on where you're at, a studio can cost a hefty amount per session you're in there.

Plus all the equipment, producers, writers, people who master the songs etc...

Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen

But you can't make Judas without RedOne and I bet my Gaga collection that he charges A LOT

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

sometimes all you need is the software like ableton, or Flstudio. If you already have that. you can make the song for free. (just the instrumental)

The money goes to hiring a producer to work with them, that can range from $1k-1million.(depending on the produucers status) Timbaland makes 1million.

Or they can just purchase an instrumental that has already been made.$1k-1million

More money goes to recording the vocals in the studio (this can cost between $10k-$500k. Then it also goes to mixing and mastering up to $100k. Then paying a lawyer to split the % of royalties between the artist, producer, and songwriter. Then afterwards promo for the song, The label pays for most of the stuff

And that's my universal question, WHY do studios cost that much? Like, if it's a well known studio I'd be okay with that, but having a mic and professional instruments, cost like 10.000$ an hour just to be there, sometimes it creeps me out.

I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.

I meant if it was done by one person. I have a friend who is an amazing singer and writes, produces etc he can make any track for a £25 pizza budget.

But say, a producer like RedOne works with you on Bad Romance, and he gets his check for 50.000$ (just a guess), and the song goes viral, making you earn millions of dollars. Do you have to give him a percentage of your earnings? Or you get the money while he cries his eyes out.

So many questions :neyde:

It's like being in a hotel. Why would they charge $500 for a room just to sleep in there for a night? Because they know if you want it that bad, you'll pay for it.

So, Applause may have cost more than I could guess?  No wonder why she has to tour / promote / make a MV for it. It's like gambling, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Gaga probably payed Redone like $30k-200k  per song just to get him in the studio. After the song is made, released and it becomes a hit, He takes a certain % of the money from album sales, radio plays, when its played in movies/tv shows/commercials, spotify/pandora, everytime she performs it. Earing him anywhere between 200k to 7million. Everytime Gaga makes money from the song, he takes a certain percentage of it. That percentage is already decided in his contract before anything.

So, that's why she wouldn't be happy at all if some songs leak before the release date, because everyone gets paid beforehand, except for the singer.

So, that means that you can absolutely go bankrupt if an album fails to succeed. :neyde: I'm not gonna think about becoming a singer :neyde:
