Edu 3,961
So, I feel like I need to talk about my overall experience as being a Gaga fan since 2009... I was a child at the time and didn't have a very defined taste for music and one of the main factors that turned me into a fan, was watching the "Paparazzi" performance at the VMAs over and over again (GOSH, I could possibly re-create the entire thing without ever seeing again), after I listened to "Bad Romance" randomly on a non-pop music related website. I don't how, but her visuals managed to capture my attention like no else artist had, like I wasn't a fan of the American pop culture or any dance/electronic music (btw I'm Brazilian). After, I started to follow her moves online and **** like y'all do now... "Monster" was released and yeah, every song was really ****ing amazing in my mind as a kid. I was here (as a fan, not a GGD member) during some really important moments and all that hype for her next album, when she made me stay wake until 4 a.m. during the New Year's Eve for a pic from the "Born This Way" photoshoot and in an electric mood to finally hear the lead single on a radio station that would play it for the very first time. I even recall my mom, back then, mad at me for staying so many hours online searching and reading about a foreign woman, that records songs that she doesn't understand the lyrics or even the melodies. The years passed, she announced that would come to Brazil with her tour, I bought one of those V.I.P. packages just to get some exclusive merch (which later, made me feel like buying all **** related to her, turning me into a collector)... then all that hype started again, with her teasing us with lyrics and stuff for "ARTPOP" and after the album dropped, not because of the music itself (I'm not really a hardcore fan of "Applause" or the era as a whole, but I would still jam to a bunch of tracks from it), I started to distance myself from her and her songs... what made me even request to be banned from this community (through PMs with a extremely nice mod). Now I'm back here and I went through old performance by her, interviews... and like, I can't recognize who she was and who she is nowadays, like there's such a difference... I know, people age and change their mind about life and how they would like to see things, but I'm just trying to connect once again with Gaga, I truly used to feel like we're somewhat friends, because I used to see and listen to her so many times! I am a little confused about how I should act towards her, like I constructed in the past, a type of relationship and now that seems off and out of hand sometimes. 🌹 free britney 🌹

Koreku 2,387
I understand. I know i say it plenty of times, but Gaga is an entertainer that will appeal to different crowds with each 'era'. Like in The Fame, she gave off a s-xy club chick vibe, then in TFM era she came off as 'ugly' to many, then with BTW and it's message, she turned off many 'conservative' or just straight fans, and adopted a much bigger gay audience. I guess you feel weird because in the past eras, Gaga's changes still complied with you, but this time around she's a slight turn-off for you, just like the other people when BTW debuted. meanwhile, she's picked up a much larger audience of older/casual people, and I bet you half of them will be turned off again next era. This is what makes gaga brilliant, she's so versatile and isn't afraid to take risks in expense of turning off some fans. She's constantly traveling through new ideas and styles. Serving true gypsy. You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.
Runway 27,876
We grew up and so did she I miss when I was 14 and she was literally my mother monster  Now Im 20 and its obviously different. But I love her like i always have
JDi 1,495
she's the same person. better, if anything. but just like the Countess, a little dead inside. many people's fault, including her own. purity weakens you under impure circumstances. her fight now is to stay positive about other people, not herself. see: "I love Hollywood now." , "Je vois la vie en rose" , "We have two selves. The one the world needs us to be, compliant... and the shadow. Ignore it, and life is forever suffering" and pretty much all of Hotel (California). she's getting there. she's amazeballs. Yeah, I don't know if the deal is with her music or her as a person (or what she wants us to see from her). I need to figure that out by myself, I guess... 15 minutes ago, Koreku said: I understand. She is a true chameleon and I admire that, is what makes her so special. But I don't think you can classify me as a simple fan and here's the problem. 13 minutes ago, Runway said: We grew up and so did she I miss when I was 14 and she was literally my mother monster  Now Im 20 and its obviously different. christinahoney 383
Omg Edu I relate to your story so much. VMA also made me fan and I completely lost interested before the ARTPOP era. Used to be a huge fan, now I don't feel connected to her at all. It's a shame. I also used to stay up all night when stuff would leak, listen and fall asleep..good times.
