One thing that particularly irked me when was doing this promo tour to boost his image was that he always said "People have to understand that was not me" in response to his past actions.

There was no process of maturity whatsoever, because if there was he would actually take responsibility for his actions and say something along the lines of "I fully understand my wrong-doings, why they're wrong and that I have not been acting and reacting appropiately." He's not sorry for acting like an ass, he's sorry for himself getting caught and scrutinzed.
