I watched some parts of the HBO Monster Ball special last night and there was something about it that just seemed effortless. A kind of fearlessness that I feel like she's been missing for a while now. Even though I loved the artRAVE, most of it wasn't the same. The music isn't a problem for me. I prefer BTW anyway. She can make good music and people will love it, but there will always be a select group of people who miss the "old" Lady Gaga, just like people will miss the "old" version of any artist. Hot tea right there. She seemed so fierce and confident back then, like she was dominating the whole industry, she looked like she had no rivals at all, she was like a role model for people to look up to, that fearlessness like you said, inspired people. That cockiness was what made her an icon, she still is an icon but in a different way. Today she smiles a lot on stage, she tries be down-to-earth and make herself approachable to everyone, which is a good thing but I don't think that should be the attitude she pulls ON stage, especially when she sings pop music. That persona is what people miss, not the music, not the looks, not the style. These things can evolve and they should. I loved ARTPOP's fashion and music but the attitude was lacking. I think this illustrates what I'm talking about, and I was extremely stunned by this look the first time I saw it because I hadn't seen that in a while:
TimisaMonster 31,073
No...even GAGA has changed A LOT emotionally, mentally, and physically in the past few years...she's not 23 dancing around in a platinum blonde wig and origami dress... She's a grown woman with a fiance and has had an incredible year and is growing as an artist with every album... She tried "being her old self" with the fun dancy ARTPOP music and it backfired when all people wanted was more DarkGa Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Pandacadabra 9,089
Noooooo. I get that she isnt as GP friendly as her first album but artists dont become legends by being one-dimensional or playing it safe just to appease a wide audience thatll eventually outgrow the artist. I'm glad she doesnt, this is what separates her from her contemporaries, she's evolving and provides various musical aspects, I mean name me a popular artist that has dance songs and performs them beautifully on the piano, I cant think of any but Gaga. I feel a lot of people want something more easy to chew and isnt polarizing but that isnt Gaga anymore. I just want her to release what she wants to whatever genre it may be and not be in a "please the public" mode. This is what I fear for Gaga the most, that she'll go bubble gum pop. She has so much more to offer than that.
