Comcast imposing Data Caps on DSL/Highspeed Internet

Comcast continues to ignore customer backlash, and continues to dramatically expand the company's broadband usage caps and overage fees. A close look at Comcast's usage cap "trial" FAQindicates that the company plans to quietly expand caps into Little Rock, Arkansas; Houma, LaPlace and Shreveport, Louisiana; Chattanooga, Greenville, Johnson City/Gray, Tennessee; and Galax, Virginia starting December 1. In all of these markets users now face a 300 GB monthly usage cap, with $10 per 50 GB overage fees.

I can't help but wonder if this is an effort on Comcast's part to siphon back customers who've cut their cable service in favor of streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Instant Video) by hitting them with usage penalties.

300 GB doesn't go very far when you're streaming HD video on multiple devices.

Then again, it might be good for people to stop doing that and pay more attention to real life and real human interaction.
