FRANK1991 3,329 Posted November 9, 2015 Share Posted November 9, 2015 I only listen to Applause and DWUW now. I stopped listening to ARTPOP long ago, it doesn't stand against the flow of time. I think because of it's heavy EDM production that's hard to listen for too long and is a bit out-dated and it's songs meaning being too similar to The Fame. We'll see. I listened to BTW for 2 years straight before I switched to ARTPOP. Yet ARTPOP only lasted a year. I liked the album and played it alot, but I played TF, TFM, & BTW way more and can still listen to them. But I just can't do it with ARTPOP. It's weird because, like I said, I've always liked the album & never hated it or cared about its mainstream success. I'm not necessarily "tired" of it (the way that I normally would be after listening to an album this often). But I'm just ready to obsess on new things. ARTPOP will always be one of the most impactful albums in my life. In my car, I always listen to Spotify via bluetooth. EXCEPT, for TWO YEARS, I've always kept ARTPOP in the CD player when nothing else was speaking to me. And that was quite frequent. I'd find myself NOT wanting to listen to ARTPOP, but for lack of anything else I wanted to hear, I'd put it on (driving to/from work) and end up listening to it for the entire ride. It's incredibly cohesive and addicting. It's everything it was meant to be. I honestly don't know if I've ever loved one single album so much!! Hence, why I play it in the car so often. There's a song for SOOOO many of my "going to work" moods: VENUS ------> when my coworkers are not getting along and I need to remind myself to spread love and positivity during the day ARTPOP -----> When I'm feeling creatively drained and need to remind myself of my inner creative fire. DWUW -------> When I'm feeling angry and oppressed by "the man" and I need a surge of rebellious defiance and empowerment. DONATELLA/FASHION -----> When I'm feeling silly and just looking to have a carefree, fabulous day. APPLAUSE ------> When I need a reminder of how much I love what I do, and why I do it.
