People need to stop making Kim Kardashian look like this tragic figure who overcame shame and betrayal to become a successful businesswoman, which seems to be an extremely popular way of viewing her nowadays, especially in the whole sjw tumblr feminist sphere.

She was seeking fame in the most vapid ways even before her Sex Tape leaked. Also she dropped the lawsuit against the leakers when they offered like 5 million dollars or something. So much for integrity.

This is not a tragic story. She capitalized on her popularity to launch a reality show about superficiality and life as a vapid celebrity. It's fair. Not admirable. Just fair.

She still doesn't have any talent, and presents a lifestyle of superficiality. Which is, in fact, what Rebel Wilson is against. So she's right.

I agree with her to an extent, but Wilson has played mainly comedic characters because of her looks - her roles in Bridesmaids & Pitch Perfect wouldn't have been as funny if she was skinny. She is basically typecast because of how she looks.

and not wanting to be associated with someone who got famous off of a s-x tape isn't the same as slut shaming, and i wish modern feminists made a  better distinction. women shouldn't want to be like the kardashians, youre not a progressive feminist for doing what they do, because in the end they all cater to what men find attractive anyways. if men didnt find the kardashians hot, they wouldnt s-xualize themselves to such a degree. so no, liking the kardashians doesnt make you a modern feminist.

Am I the only one that doesn't think much of Rebel's acting abilities? I admire her as a business woman because I hear she's extremely smart, but it seems she plays the same character in every film, which to me is barely a character. and I don't find her funny. I won't rip on her work ethic though, I'm sure she does work hard.

If Rebel doesn't want to work with the Kardashians/Jenners than she doesn't have to obviously. She's definitely entitled to her opinion.

I'm a feminist. Please don't speak for us. Yes they do appeal to straight guys, quite a bit. I myself have nothing against what they are doing, they are liked for both their s-x appeal and red carpet looks, they really aren't that different from many other celebrities. Kim had a s-x tape, so what? She made a dreadful mistake when she was young and decided to capitalize on it, that and her mother's business savvy made her and her siblings a star. Some people sleep their way to the A-list (men and women). Others use family connections. It happens. There are more important things for us feminists to worry about.

There's a certain poetic irony of you, a man, telling women what they need to think, say, or do in order to be a real feminist. You use "modern feminist" like it has a textbook definition and isn't up for debate. At the end of the day these women can do whatever the hell they want and should feel no shame because it offends your male sensibilities. THAT is feminism.

By the way, Rebel Wilson's "funny dumb fat chick" characters cater to what men expect of women who look like her, as well. All of these women have found a way to make it big living in - and in fact exploiting - patriarchical society. That is to be commended.

I understand where she is coming from, but Kendall and Kylie aren't to blame for that. They were children when Kim's s-x tape was released. They were preteens when they were forced into a family reality show. So sure, they've become super popular and famous, but only because their mom and three older sisters had already built an empire.

I truly hate when people pick on Kendall and Kylie. They didn't ask to be as famous as they are. And Kendall is actually a really successful model and probably still would be even if she wasn't a part of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
