LG5 to be a timeless record

I hope Gaga realises that she needs to release serious music.

:rip:

I hope you realise that there's no such thing as 'serious music'. I think someone's a little thirsty for a commercially & critically successful album.

I'm definitely not the only fan who found her pretentious and i can assure you that many non fans had the exact same opinion (many articles, music forums, friends/people i know etc).

Someone who denies the fact that the ARTPOP era made her look pretentious to many people (not everyone obviously), lives in their own world.

You cannot speak for 'non-fans' and those who are not you, nor can you tell someone who has a certain opinion you disagree with that their opinion is wrong.

Another just dance in 2015 will flop harder than G.U.Y

lol not when the GP still keeps Just Dance, Poker Face and Bad Romance relevant, while continuously asking for The Fame Gaga back

excellent post otherwise :3

I agree about the album to be the real test and everything

PROMO IDEA: make a deal with (5) radio stations and call each of them in their busiest hour to launch a contest. #[LG5single]on[stationName] on twitter, contest lasts (5) hours. The winning station will premiere the single. They next day. And have the exclusivity of it for the day.

ha REAL radio comeback.

of course the stations are the same genre as her music

i don't see the LG5 single being premiered on a classical music station hahah

but you know

Z100 and whatnot (I don't know US stations sorry)

I only mentioned just dance aka a basic pop song for 2015.

PF and bad romance are a different story.

She needs a BEYONCE. That album was very personal to Bey, showed a new side of her and she explored new artistic territories. It also had an innovative release strategy. You see, she didn't try to follow the GP trend. She didn't wanna do anything but make the best possible album she could - for herself.

This can be said about many other albums like The Velvet Rope, FROOT, Ray of Light which in their own way were the peak of the artists success (FROOT being Marina's most accalaimed and most personal album).

Gaga needs a personal album and she needs to try new things. Maybe shy away from dance pop.

Authentic music WITH SUFFICIENT PROMOTION.

Til It Happens To You is a great example of how a great song is not going to do well commercially without sufficient promotion.

Really don't think we've seen the last of that promotional campaign. Hoping it picks up around the oscars.

Can I just spill some tea? We are all thirsty for some music and this time we just want Gaga to be redeemed, we want her songwriting and singing talent to take central place in the eyes of the public, not her metaphors, her costumes and appearance, not her 'bizarre' obsessions and passion about art.

And that's it, tbh. No matter how it comes, whether it is through sales or acclaim or both, we just need that one record that will harmonise the mass' opinion with ours as Monsters. We want LG5 to be her magnum opus of sort maybe. Right now I'm pretty sure everyone is divided as to whether it is TFM or BTW that holds the iconic status in her discography.

On a side note, please grow out of the habit of bashing ARTPOP for the sake of putting everything else 'higher'. We've been here long enough to know the status quo, but still. Let me remind you ARTPOP is definitely her most personal album, while maybe her least relatable when it comes to lyrical content. But that's her way of doing things, it's Lady f*cking Gaga we're talking about after all. Personal =/= Slow, heartbreaking love ballads. And this is actually one of the strongest ARTPOP's points - her ability to convey her emotions through the music! :legend:

Now, let's all admit how our internals are already screaming about new music but we try to keep it cool, for how long though? :trollga:

Whispering

Comparing any current artist to Adele at this moment is futile. She is an anomaly that hasn't happened in music in decades. Using her as a standard is only going to lead to disappointment for every other fanbase around at this moment. The reason why she doesn't do standard promo, but sells as much in two weeks as most artists sell in months (if even that) has nothing to do with anything that any other artist could copy.

Now, what does "Gaga need to do next"? Whatever she damn well wants to do! ...and whatever she and her label feel is the right music and album to release.

An album becomes timeless...years and years after the release. You don't release a "timeless album" and you certainly don't know going in to an era what could possibly become that kind of album.
