DiscoHeaven23 35,007
To be perfectly honest, when I first heard the album, it was one of my least favorite songs. I was really unhappy when i heard it was the second single. I wanted it to be Dance in the Dark. However, once I got the visual (music video) for it, I started to like the song more and was happy with it.
McMonster08 4,528
I kinda agree with you on the ruining cohesion part. The first time I heard of the song I thought it should've belonged to The Fame. Although I think that choosing it as a single is a wise move. I mean Beyonce's in it, plus it was accompanied with an epic video that kept Gaga's momentum in pop after Bad Romance. If there's anything horrible, it's Interscope's decision to not release another TFM single after Alejandro.
whiteboi1327 84
I can see why you think that. I think it was a good follow up single to BR but after it should've been Monster or DITD. It simply could have had more singles. However, the music video could have been better haha

Battle 4 Ur Life 6,704
no, sis, that's delusional. TFM is cohese and PERFECT. This fanbase is her worst mistake You, sis, win this thread. “Fantastic, chic, freak, slay.”
DrewStevens 5,249
No. The Fame Monster is her most cohesive album and Telephone fitted perfectly. The song is not as dark as the rest of the songs but it works because it isn't a bubblegum pop song or a funny song either. It had hard beats like the rest of the dance tracks on the album and the video was pretty dark in a comedic way. The Fame Monster was a flawless era and Telephone is one of her most iconic songs/videos + Beyonce is on it.

AlexanderLevi2 5,849
I don't get the hate for telephone. I mean it's not her most in depth song but it's still a bop. It pumps me up on my way to work and before/during a party. If you don't like it, skip it. But it was still successful. P.S. All of my non-monster friends tell me telephone is their fave song. It's definitely GP friendly. Currently listening to Joanne
