The song is not as dark as the rest of the songs but it works because it isn't a bubblegum pop song or a funny song either. It had hard beats like the rest of the dance tracks on the album and the video was pretty dark in a comedic way. The Fame Monster was a flawless era and Telephone is one of her most iconic songs/videos + Beyonce is on it. No Gaga album is cohesive but The Fame Monster had a chance if Telephone didn't ruin it. I know the song is huge but Interscope is horrible for choosing it over Monster, DITD, SHICD, Speechless and Teeth. To think that Gaga still could have been performing those songs on her tours if Interscope wasn't so restrictive. The Video holds a world record, has an artistic message.
