The purpose of the veto/petition of concern has good intentions - it prevents laws being passed that are discriminatory to either the Unionists or Nationalists, but the usage is wrong in this instance Also, the more the DUP continue like this, support for Sinn Fein amongst the LGBT community will presumably just increase, so this is good for them and their end goal of a united Ireland.
