France, not USA.

Never said I agree with this, but it seem that you agree with BDS whose who scream slaughter the Jews and Israel not having right to exists.

It's quite offensive that you think I'd support death threats to anyone.

I quoted up there what BDS is all about and I fully support that.

By your logic, all pro-Israeli groups and demonstrations should be criminalized because you can often hear Death to Arabs and calls for carpet bombing Gaza.

Look what happened recently in Chicago.

Students take part in a “die-in” protest at the University of Illinois at Chicago on 14 October. (Facebook)

Students in Chicago received a death threat after taking part in a Palestine solidarity protest.

Another student activist in Santa Barbara, California, was physically assaulted during an argument with an Israel supporter.

These are just two of dozens of on-campus incidents reported across the United States over the last four weeks, according to Palestine Legal.

Death threat

Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Illinois-Chicago organized a “die-in” protest on campus as part of an international day of action for Palestine on 14 October.

At least 25 students participated in the silent action to remember Palestinians recently killed by Israel. The protest lasted approximately six minutes.

Five days later, one of the students received a threatening email message directed at Students for Justice in Palestine.

The message stated: “If there is one more demonstration in the quad from your petty organization, consider it to be your real bodies falling next time. What you did was downright anti-Semitism. Don’t underestimate the Jewish presence on campus. #jewhater.”

The student filed a report with campus police.

There has been no formal response to the incident by the university. But some SJP members met with the dean of students to discuss it.

The dean assured students that their protests are constitutionally protected, Anwaar Saadeh, a student at the university and member of SJP, told The Electronic Intifada.

“We don’t know what they’re going to do yet,” she said. “We’re still waiting to hear.”

University spokesperson Bill Burton told The Electronic Intifada that the matter is under investigation and had no further comment.

Saadeh said that although the death threat is frightening and is being taken seriously, SJP members will not stop organizing.

“They’re not going to shut us up with this,” she said.

She said that students have created ways to protect each other on campus, such as making sure members of SJP do not have to walk alone to class, or sit alone at the library.

Facebook threats

As part of the international day of action, Students for Justice in Palestine at the nearby University of Chicago posted flyers with the names of Palestinian victims of recent Israeli attacks.

Afterward, posters were put up around campus accusing SJP of lying and of supporting violence against Jews.

Flyers with the logos of SJP and the university with the words “Stabbing Jews for Peace” were put up around campus the same day that the student at UIC received the death threat, according to students and attorneys with Palestine Legal.

Members of SJP and Jewish Voice for Peace-UChicago also received threats on their Facebook pages, the websitePalestine in America reported.

Assault

Meanwhile, a member of SJP at theUniversity of California at Santa Barbarawas physically assaulted during a peaceful protest as part of the international day of action.

Daniel Mogtaderi said he was filming the demonstration on his phone as a matter of protocol, so that SJP can document any harassment or violence it might encounter.

A young man who appeared to be another student began arguing with Mogtaderi about the 13-year-old Palestinian boy who was accused of a stabbing attack and critically injured and taunted by Israeli settlers as he lay bleeding on the ground two weeks ago.

The assailant became aggressive when he realized Mogtaderi was recording the encounter.

“At that point he forcibly took hold of the phone, held on to the phone for some time, and shoved Mogtaderi two times before returning the phone and leaving the scene,” SJP stated.

Mogtaderi’s video recording of the argument between himself and the assailant can be viewed here.

So can we please ban and criminalize all pro-Israel ("solidarity") groups because of the death threats, assaults and hate speech by many members of these groups in different countries?

Are you for that? Next time someone wears Long live Israel shirt he gets 50000e fine or goes to prison. Is that alright?

"electronicintifada" and you accuse me of propaganding Zionism. I find it hilarious that you don't even try to admit the anti-semitism within the BDS movement. You are excusing anti-semites.

Those dickheads said here they want to step Jews. And that should be illegal.

The sources are named from that campus and death threats are reported to police. Now,

Answer to my questions which you skipped

I'll repeat

"So can we please ban and criminalize all pro-Israel ("solidarity") groups because of the death threats, assaults and hate speech by many members of these groups in different countries?

Are you actually denying all the existence of extremists and their racism among pro Israeli groups?

1. Ban groups when they show anti-semite tendencies. (esp. in countries where anti-semitism is a problem like France)

2. Well, I don't agree with wearing a "Long live XY country" in general.

3. Nope, but do you deny the existence of the huge amount of anti-semites in groups like BDS?

And? So what? No matter the location, this is still a restriction of freedom of speech.

Does France's constitution protect free speech to the extent of protection in the US?  Is it one of the basic principles of the country? IDK if it is like the US, in that regard or not, so I'm asking.

Someone knowledgeable of France's government, please answer this question. Please don't link some propaganda site as an answer. It would be like me using Fox News or Rush Limbaugh to explain what is happening in the US. Yes, there might be some truth in there somewhere, but they have twisted everything so much, it is hard to find what is really the truth and what is an exaggerated version of the facts.

Do you actually know what BDS is saying? Their leader calls for destruction of Israel and their supporters got several times caught for saying "slaughter the jews:" BDS movement also demonstrated against an AMERICAN Jew to perform at a European music festival.

"jew lobby" Disgusting. Go away with your national socialist way of thought on Jews.

I read your OP and I read the official crime. There's nothing in both that even comes near to what you're saying, so I don't know how I'm supposed to know that.

In any case, if they called for the slaughter of Jews they should've been condemned for that, not for calling for a boycott, and that is what they are condemned for so all of our points still stand and yours is besides the point.

Why only anti-semite? So "death to Arabs" chants are ok? Islamophobia is problem in France too, but that's not criminalized.

Why not ban all the racists from whichever group they come from, which also means criminalization of pro Israel groups?

The fact that you don't like the shirt doesn't mean that person should be thrown to jail for wearing it.

I don't believe there is this "huge amount" and your source was jpost, why should I trust them if you don't trust mine?

The beginning of your article was interesting tho.

"In a recent interview with the Jewish Media Agency (JMA), David Feldman, the director of the London-based Pears Institute for the Study of Anti-Semitism, denied that the boycotts, divestments and sanctions (BDS) movement is anti-Semitic.

“I think the BDS movement is a broad church. It attracts support from some people who would like to see a one-state solution, but I think many people are attracted to BDS because they strongly oppose Israel’s conduct in the occupied territories,” he told JMA, before adding: “I haven’t seen the evidence to suggest that movement as a whole should be characterised as anti-Semitic.”

So this is coming from Jewish Media Agency and I agree with them.

And I already said, BDS doesn't have one "leader" that everyone obeys. IF it's true that someone calls for slaughter of Jews he should be held responsible for THAT, not for calling for boycott and sanctions of certain country.

I don't know the leader, but if he does such statement he should be sued not the boycott movement should be illegal. I don't have an opinion on the boycott itself as solving the issue, I know the BDS movement is present at my uni but I would not join it because I don't like how people over simply conflicts.I am just talking about this event, basically protester were handing out flyers that weren't inciting to violence only encouraging people to boycott, then it's up to people to make a personal choice. For me that is very similar to manifestation or other form of activism. When you know they let for month the manif pour tous being so openly homophobic in the streets without forbidding it, it's laughable that they forbid a group of people to call for the boycott of product. They don't call to slaughter Israeli nor Jews in that specific event. I also think that the CRIF being behind it make it a "anti jews" event, while it's not. Sure 75% of Israelis are Jews but 25% aren't, I don't understand why the CRIF has to make it a Jewish when it's not, it's not like they encourage to boycott all Jewish stores or product which would be a problem.

Again the double standard bothers me because if tomorrow we would call to boycott Saudi Arabian products people wouldn't blink an eye.

The current discussion is of an anti-semite group. Islamophobia should be condemned as well.

And well you called me first out for jpots :rip:  and again you are not condemning anti semitism within the BDS movement instead you are searching quotes of some people saying it's not anti semitic because they are Good Jews TM.

There wouldn't be much following of calling of boycotting "Saudia Arabian" products, simply because the world sees Israel as the Jewish state.

Free speech is protected but you can't express any racist, discriminatory or incitation to hatred while doing so, for example the "artist" Dieudonné has numerous time said very anti semitic things, it has been very clear and he has been sued. The FN the racist party is allowed to exists but often its members are sued for antisemitism, islamophobia, homophobia and other **** like that. Yet the FN isn't illegal as such because it's not in their rules to be openly racist for instance even if we all now what they stand for, so the limit is subtle as you can see. With BDS what bothers me is that the whole idea of boycott against Israel is made illegal, while it should be the individual that should be sued if they prove to be racist or anti semitic. It's not like they tell you to not buy Israeli product because Israeli sucks or to kill them, they basically say they don't support government decision and that's why they want to boycott which is up to everyone to do so or not. So sure, some people will be anti semitic among them and let's sue them individually.

I honestly don't even understand what you mean?

If tomorrow I call a boycott of Saudi Arabian products because they violate human rights, people won't complain or call me a racist for it. Yet if we do that for Israel we are automatically anti semitic? what is the logic behind that? Is boycotting the USA products also anti christian?

Like seriously, Israel has an embargo all around Gaza so they don't get goods by boat from other countries but boycotting Israel is racist? ....

The difference is that Saudia Arabia etc are known for they violation of Human rights. Meanwhile I don't see people in my Campus to give away Anti-Saudia Arabia flyers. And I don't see huge demonstrations specifically against Saudia Arabia and islamophobic. I don't see any protest against Yemen for expelling all their Jews if they don't convert. Don't see any of that. And that is double standard.
