I think the only artist that is capable of dethroning an Adele song from the top is Gaga herself

She has successfully reignited interest in her brand

Now she is no longer considered a popstar, she's established herself as nearly legend, the only seal would be her comeback

 

No one else is capable of dethroning Adele, but I have a feeling Gaga's comeback will be MASSIVE

We need a strong first single. People are aware Gaga is not just a product and there's something besides the "crazy" and that stuff, she needs to be smart.

 

It's all a cycle, eventually people will get tired of the same love ballads and will miss more elaborated performances (just like they got tired of the extravagant stuff and turned into Adele in 2012), then Gaga will have her peak again.

I think you're right and I hope so! Gaga needs to wait though. I would love her to be in a seperate Grammy ceremony to Adele though. I guess if Gaga's music is really good, it should have a high chance of peaking high/selling well/winning awards, despite having Adele around as well.

This. A lot of people have already been shocked by Gaga's versatility and her ability to do simplistic music and performances which showcase her raw vocals. BUT

BUT these are mostly people who follow the music industry avidly, a huge part of the GP has not been introduced of this side of Gaga yet, her the Sound of Music performance and jazz endeavors are not widely known yet to the GP so she needs to pull something like FourFiveSeconds which Rihanna did, only better.

in the end 80´s early 90´s michael jackson, whitney, mariah, celine and madonna were superstars at the same time.

no one would do a michael vs celine thing because its a total different kind of musik and a total different kind of popstar.

and just take a look on every named artists discography. there were always singles that werent on top of the charts.

michaels "heal the world" was peak at #27.
madonnas "human nature" at #46.
celine´s "think twice" at #13
mariah´s "all i want for christmas" at #21
whitneys "run to you" at #31

still all of them are worlde wide hits and classics.

and you might not remember how celines videos looked like or how her performances were. but u still remember what michael and madonna did even with their not-that-sucsessfull songs.

You're right about that point: she's actually the only one who can dethrone Adele, because she's the only one talented enough to do it  But there's space for both imo
