So as we all know, since a few months, we've seen a radical change of attitude in Gaga.

She mentionned and contredicted herself a lot lately, like how Gaga is a character, where it used to be who she truly was before. She started hew career with the iconic "Pop music will never be low brow", and now, she's almost saying she was forced to do pop music... Just a few examples off my mind.

This is not a shade thread, it's more of speculation.

Is it time to move over, and admit Lady Gaga was a character, created and played, or there is still some truth and realness in what she became.

(First thread, and my english is not the best. Stay nice with me please)

She said it herself she was created but that does not mean its not real...

...

She wasn't Lady Gaga until she put on the guise of Lady Gaga. She didn't pop out of Mrs. Germonatta wearing a bubble dress. She's Stefani.

Lady Gaga is the mask that Stefani used to overcome her personal demons and express herself without inhibition.

So while Lady Gaga itself is a creation, it is the expression of Stefani's true self. Stefani isn't Stefani without Lady Gaga. For quite some time, neither was complete without the other.

Now that Stefani has become more comfortable in her own skin, the two are starting to blend seamlessly with one another.

At least, that's how I see it.

Well I think that no performance or a song or an artist exists without someone creating it. :lolly:

REAL, but she's taking herself too seriously sometimes and she's trying to give too much deep meaning to some pretty basic things, so it comes across as fake

I think she's always been very real, but it did hit me how she said Lady Gaga is a character that she created when she used to say there was no difference between Stefania and Gaga. But yet again she's always contradicted herself so we never really know when she speaks the truth lol

I'll say it once again, this is not a shade thread towards Gaga.

I'm just sharing my personal thoughts about where she is now. I've been a fan since The Fame, and today, she's not the same. It's one thing to grow up, and I totally understand that.

We're clueless about her musical direction for LG5, we're not even sure she wants to do pop music anymore. And this simple fact is hard to belive coming from a girl who, for the last 7 years, claimed to create pop tours, and compared them to religious experience.

Remember that 60 Minutes interview. They were trying so hard to make her say she was a product, all scripted. But she kept saying "no, this is the f*** I am". This is where I'm wondering how true, how real all of this was.

I myself am confused regarding my own feelings towards Gaga. It's hard and sad to have this little voice in your head saying that you've trusted someone for so long, someone that wasn't real, but only a character..

Just skip to 3:45 in this interview : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c1-5Qu-J7A

"There was never a disconnect of what I am". But then, Lady Gaga is a character that she created... Ugh, this makes me so emotional for some reason.

She said that she created Gaga to cope with her depression so "Lady Gaga" is real as it's something created by Stefani. And there's nothing more real than Stefani. All artists when they start their carreer have to be forced to do what the company tells them to do, so The Fame/Monster was totally forced to be pop. Then they saw that she had much success and let her have more artistic freedom and BTW came out, and then ARTPOP (remember the thing between her and Troy about her wanting to make an experimental album). The realest Gaga is the one on Stuck On Fu**ing You and Yoü & I, but that doesn't mean that the other songs are not real. She composes them in her piano, it always depend on the production that the company wants the song to have.

What's real is some peoples inability to respect growth. No one is the same at 20 as they are at 30. No one is the same at 40 as they are at 30 and so on. Only people trapped in a make believe bubble stay the same and have no growth beyond their ego. The same ego that is inflated by the company they keep.

She's real but I feel there's always been a part of her she doesn't show the public. That part being the caddy, b---hy diva. That's not a dig as I think even the best of us have those moments.

I think most of what she does is what she really wants to do. And then there's stuff like the meat dress as well as Gajesus and getting puked on during the AP era. Never bought into those, never will. But sometimes controversial stunts get the buzz so there's that.

But for the conference you're concerned about, she didnt say Gaga is a product or a character in the way you took it. For her, Gaga is more of a 'defensive system' as well as someone that makes her feel 'higher', if that makes sense. A much stronger/confident alter ego of who she truly is. At least imo.

Edit: something I forgot to add. A stronger/confident alter ego that is not much of an alter ego anymore, as she has learned to make it an addition of herself, instead of letting it be something different. I think this was meant for those people as if you have experienced anxiety and depression, you'll know that many of us (I used to have those too) prefer to live in our own fantasies and work to bring those to reality, instead of working on ourselves.

Another explanation is that she was adressing psychologically troubled people. Of course she wouldn't stand as Lady Gaga before them because frankly, none of those people will make something as big out of themselves as she did of hers, if they'll do anything at all. So instead it was Stefani adressing those people and not Gaga, there's better relation and interaction there.

Thou shalt remember her judasness embarked in pop music as a vehicle. It was empowerment.

Anyone with a pair of ears and eyes knows that pop music is the best way to be exposed to the world, and create movements.  A simple course on pop culture in college will show you this.

She early on refernced how The Beattles changed the world. They created a movement from nothing. So did Britney.

What Gagas goal and aim has been ... is to challenge the industry to bring back talent and make it popular again!

After she felt the industry tried itemizing her she reclaimed her own freedom. Remember she is the SCULPTOR AND THE CANVAS.... but not one without the other!

Her endeavor into pop music is a performance art piece in itself. That is the irony and genius of Lady Gaga.

If this fan base has forgotten the genius of this move, I believe youve missed the whole point .

But in the midst of it, if you follow her.... you know she loves her fans more than any of it. Its because of us, we knew the movement was needed. Not everyone will get it, and as she said even her own team is cynical of such an objective.

But isnt that true in any career? Theres always someone in the corner judging, waiting for your downfall.

Gaga has re-examined her intentions, and realized  she bit off more than she could chew. We all go through this if we work too much.... we get tired. We need to rexamine our effectiveness.

Make no mistake she is re positioning herself so her message  will be stronger than ever.  Gaga is the opening act and the closer.
