I have to say that the way Gaga's Career is going it is alot more CHER oriented. She has changed and will continue to change and since she will always be making music she will never go away. #TheNextIronMaiden Remember that Iron Maiden also hasnt had a top 10 hit in over a decade if not more.

Lol no way. Madonna's win over Cyndi Lauper was always linked to her cultural relevance, and creativity.

Even if Lady Gaga's album sales fell which I think she will chance with LG5, Gaga is culturally so much more relevant than Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift...

Think about this, literally everybody in the world knows Gaga's meat dress, all other extravaganza, when you say Lady Gaga ,just like people knew about Madonna back in time.  Most of people around the world would find something to say about Gaga other than her being a singer.

But in any non-english speaking country, none of general population knows sh*t about Katy Perry or Taylor Swift other than their being pop singers who have bops just like Cyndi Lauper.

Being a casual fan of Cyndi I highly doubt that A night to remember sold that much on the first couple of years reached the figures that this post claim.

A night to remember doesn't underperform, but even if it was the case, back in 1989 it was a lot easiear to sell that much.

In addition, C2C proves Gaga is still very much alive commercially. Cyndi has never reached with no album after ANTR the figures of C2C.

I believe like others here are saying, that Gaga is mostly the Gaga of 2000's,

in pop culture today, yes, but Cyndi's importance in pop culture in the 80's is on par with Gaga today and even the message is similar when you think of songs like, True Colors Vs Born This Way. Both had a huge impact on pop culture.

I wasn't alive then but I don't think you are right at all

Was insulting Katy and Taylor really necessary?

Haters need to meet their quota, after all. :green:

I hope not. Maybe she sort of is sales/chart dominance sence sort of now. But she is so different artist that hard to compare. LG5 is going to tell alot about her commercial future. Im sure she can turn things around.

There is not info about it.

Hun look it up. You don't own a computer? First you say "I wouldn't know because I wasn't born in the 80's." I doubt there are many of us on here that were born in the 80's I know about President Carter it doesn't mean I was there to witness it, I know about Cher, Diana Ross, The Supremes, Aretha Franklin it doesn't mean I was there either. If you don't want to look it up, thats up to you. Like I said I am not spoon feeding you the info. If you'd like to learn more about Cyndi do some research, if you don't thats ok too, but then you can't really have an opinion on something you don't know anything about. I'd like this conversation to end here. I won't be replying anymore. :bye:

I know a lot of stuff about her :awkney: What I said is that we can't really know exactly how big she was back then... The fact that she has the same sales with Gaga means that she was a lot less successful than her.. Because back then it was x10 easier to sell albums.. So sale-wise Gaga is a LOT bigger
