Such an amazing song and time for Gaga. I was a little too young to remember everything but **** was it good.

VOLANTIS

My Country only plays POKER FACE on TV and when btw dropped they even showed the Video here (completely censored beyond recognition but.. promo is promo) and ofc they even screened the Grammy Live performance multiple times.

I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half

Missing those time... I was 11 at that time and I thought her success in 2011 is not a big deal to us.. Ugh

Reading these numbers makes me sad. The BTW (album) era had everything to go smoothly but her management team ****ed it all.

Don't forget Gaga also made the pop girls make watered down "empowerment" songs such as We R Who We R or Firework.

Born This Way was very explicit, made some people disgruntled, was in your face and down to the point.

umm "We R Who We R" and "Firework" came out months before "Born This Way"...

"Firework" was out before Gaga even announced the Born This Way album title. :awkney:

But everyone knew Gaga's next album would be about self-empowerment, that's all she would talk about during the TFM era. Katy, Kesha and Pink were very smart to take the hint and release their songs before BTW came out.

But then Gaga made all of them sound silly cause Katy was talking about feeling like plastic bags through the wind then BTW came out literally talking about church, trans people and racism.

No, No and No

Katy had made Firework initially as a breakup song and video calls started in August before the VMAs

And if you are going by that theory, it should be Janet, Madonna or Mariah

OT: if only the lead was TEOG instead:noparty:

I was only 11 when it came out but I was still a huge fan, it was BTW that got me into Gaga. I remember it was all anyone at school was talking about. She really was everywhere. Oh how I miss the Born This Way era
