lavenderblondee 3,695
From day one, she's essentially said she became Gaga to free herself. Did I think that meant she "made up" gaga? no. Do I feel like maybe in this context it feels wrong, yes. I don't think she's necessarily saying everything is made up and what she does as Gaga isn't her, no. I don't think she could ever do that. But, to have been a fan since day one, I can only hope she meant it in the way she's always said it. Which is Gaga is kind of an 'alter' part of herself that she shares to the world because she's vulnerable and afraid, but she doesn't want Gaga to be vulnerable and afraid to the world. She wants to be strong for her fans. But, in this, she needs to let her fans know that it's okay not to be, and to separate herself. She's telling her fans that they can change their lives like she did. She says so herself, her family calls her Gaga sometimes, it's not like Gaga is an some alter ego only for the public, and behind closed doors, she's only stefani. I think from listening to all the speech, that she meant it's never too late to be able to change your life and create a new identity, like she did with Gaga.
