And? What? Does this mean something? Honestly? Not to me.

Look at you, taking your time to open a thread to comment about how you, apparently, don't care.

Call me shallow, but because your reputation is staggeringly low, I'm not even gonna attempt to drag you, what I will say, however, is that this thread was made for the people who DO care. And to see a video become a record breaker for more than just butt exposure or weeks of building hype, its really refreshing.

So, while it may not mean something to you, it does to others, so your comment was completely unecessary and I would kindly ask you to remove yourself from this thread, thanks

It was, partly, but mostly I was talking about her later albums too. I meant she might have a similar track record to Norah Jones (down and down until she's barely selling a million worldwide after a decade). Who are you to say you knew exactly what I was referring to? And the last 2 years? You haven't known me as long as 2 years! Have you even been a member here for as long as that? I've only become aware of your existance in the last few months! I neve said that she would crash and burn, all I said was that she would fall dramatically. I made predictions of about 10 million sales for the album and less hit singles and awards.

Nope, you were talking about her upcoming album when you were predicting that she was overexposed and this era wasn't going to be successful for her. Oh and the Norah Jones reference and comparison was in direct relation to Adele's 21 to 25 eras. You compared them to Norah's drop from her big album. I know who you were referring to because you said the name...unless you were referring to a different artist named Adele?

I've been a member here for two years and we have had several discussions about Adele in the past, dating back months and months ago.

You can't back out of it now, you predicted that she was overexposed and had waited way too long...especially with not touring, which you used to swear was selfish and lazy and would hurt her greatly this era. Guess what? None of that happened! You've spent a long time and countless paragraphs predicting her demise and you were wrong. People are here for her. No one cares about touring...or that she took time off to be a wife and mother and live her life!

These divas keep one upping each other. First we were all blown away by the Beyonce era, then Taylor came in with her 1989 era and sold twice as many albums as Beyonce and had wayyyyyyyy more singles success and now here comes Goddess Adele setting the bar even higher.

uh uh not me sis, speak for yourself, i didn't like that s....

It means she is the biggest and most successful artist of this decade. It means everything to you. Your dislike of her consumes you and are blinded by hate. You care so much that you came in here to comment. Hopefully you viewed the video and gave her a view that will count towards history.

I was, but I was always referring to her career as a whole as time goes on. Maybe I should have said "this could be the start of her fading into obscurity"? I've said before that she'll likely go down and down in sales as time goes on, especially in international regions where English isn't the native language. I use the Norah Jones comparison frequently because she's the perfect example of what happens to a lot of singers after a big bestseller. Her debut sold 26 million. Her follow-up to her bestseller sold 10 million, the follow-up to that around 3.4 million, the follow-up to that about 3 million and her latest release just scraped 1 million. And this was before album sales experienced a massive dip. I predicted a similar case for Adele but seeing as she might start taking longer between albums, it's going to take many years to see if this prediction holds true. Whenever I speak about any artist's follow-up, I'm always referring to their entire career as a whole.

Well, I really can't remember you. You only came to my attention when Taylor began her 1989 era and it was later on too.

I'm still standing by it. It's the first single, of course it's going to sell! But wait until the album comes out. People will go out and buy it instantly, with sales records going through the roof. She might even beat the best female debut sales in the US held by Britney (1.3 million) and the all-time debut sales record in the US held by NSYNC (2.4 million in the first week). It'll be just over a month before Christmas this time, so naturally, copies will fly off the shelves even quicker than 21 did with its January release. Then there's post-Christmas sales, then the hype of award shows like BRITs and Grammys (yes, I know she won't be nominated, but people will remember her wins when these shows roll around) early next year which will keep sales on the move. Which means that overall, extreme front-loaded sales mean the album won't stay in the top ten for months or stay in the Billboard 200 for 4 years anymore. The follow-up singles also won't sell as well because practically everyone interested in her music will buy the album immediately, therefore, there is no need to buy individual singles when its a foregone conclusion that you'll buy the album.

who s norah jones ??:what:

UK singer, she was really big with her first album, her niche is neo-soul music, not pop, for one era she was THE ****, but then she just wasn't that big, she has released some albums but they don't make buzz

well, her music is kinda boring, if you look for neo-soul or neo-jazz, Adele, Amy Winehouse & Joss Stone are the easiest to start with, i really never liked Norah, but oh well...

@StrawberryBlond

You referred to her 25 era over and over. I've said it before and I will say it again, ALL artists will stop selling as much....eventually. Adele and Taylor...and anyone else who is having massive sales are in that category. Yeah, yeah I've seen your numbers on Norah Jones before and they were in direct comparison with 21 and 25. Same thing goes that I always said...Adele is going to have a massive 25 era, even if it doesn't sell 30 million.

I've been a member, and an active one, for over two years. People do change their names here, you know. The 1989 era has been going on for over a year now, by the way. Long before your Taylor hate comments, you had your Adele hate comments. One discussion from a while back was when you were trying to say that Adele's vocal technique caused her vocal problems, in which I gave you lots of medical information and examples of other people who have had the same problems. You are still dragging that weak accusation out...but that discussion between you and me was before the 1989 era. We have discussed Adele's "overexposure", the prediction that she "waited too long", the accusation that "she is making the wrong choice staying home for a while with a baby and toddler", the accusation that "she doesn't care for her fans because she doesn't tour", the accusation that "she is lazy" because of multiple things you have come up with as reasons to discount her, that "she makes the same music over and over", that "she isn't a good songwriter", and that silly Norah Jones comparison that you've trotted out countless times to predict that Adele wouldn't have a highly successful 25 era.

What are you standing by? Your new prediction you are making now? That's not standing by your old predictions, that's making a new one...now that you have seen the reception and now that you know the release schedule. Yeah...that's the same prediction most of us were saying all along. Welcome to the club, where we know that Adele is going to be a force during her 25 era.
