They don't compare. I like Taylor, but her succes is purely based on digestible pop hits and the fact she's relatable. Her succes is unseen because she isn't the entertainer Madonna is, she isn't the vocalist Adele is. She is in a category that's quite unexplainable.

And the reason so many are "glad" Adele is trumping Taylor's succes is because Taylor comes across a little too cocky. The straight-A, nice, pretty girl in the classroom isn't necessarily the one you want to be friends with, you know? She knows how successful she is, she'll sue anyone and everyone left and right. On top of that, she just doesn't really excel in something. Her dancing is a little bunny hoping here and there, her singing is good but it's no A-level vocalist either, her energy is okay but she isn't 2001 Britney. Taylor succes is very well thought-out. Adele literally rolled into it. 21 wasn't believed to be the album it became. She just made her heartbreak record the way she wanted it.

That's why it's easy to stan/be a fan of Adele. She's relatable and on top of that a massive vocalist with timeless soulful music. 19 and 21 have aged so well, it's incredible. So yeah, this is Adele's year, Taylor slayed 3 quarters of it but Adele's eclipsing her and it's well deserved. I'd like to see Taylor either own up to the pop category she's currently in and improve her showmanship because the 1989 tour is massive but let's be real here, it's because of it's production. She needs a choreographer who's able to drill some moves in her, even Katy dances and she's not a big dancer either. At least Katy tries and has drastically improved. The Super Bowl was surprisingly good. Taylor literally walks up and down, throws and arm and a leg here and there but there is 0 cohesive choreo. On a pop world tour in that category, that's unheard of. Her next era is important to see where she'll take it. She tried it with IKYWT at the Brits and to me that's the best Taylor performance ever. She's too mediocre of a vocalist not to incorporate some choreo.

The 1989 World Tour is a tour with tacky costumes, tired dancing & choreography, poor vocals, heavy backtrack vocals, no interaction with fans, no actual energy and aura on stage which are all covered with unoriginal productions. Just because The PRISMATIC World Tour is fun and colorful doesn't mean it's suited for 5 year olds. Come on, you cannot be that close-minded! Some of the lightings, glowing-in-the-dark costumes, and steams coming out (just to name a few) are all copied off of The PWT on The 1989 Tour. 

Taylor only plays a few basic cords or a few basic strums. That's about it. Most it is taken care of by playback music anyway. You only need to watch Katy's acoustic performances in 2001-2009 where she sings and plays the guitar to know that girl can actually play that instrument! 

You can't just cherry-pick songs in order to prove your point. Let's see - Katy's discography has 55 songs (including the deluxe/special edition songs and NOT including any scrapped albums or unreleased songs). Roar is literally just one song among 54 other songs. Taylor is already receiving backslash and people are tired of her. Her downfall is already here. 

 

The funniest part about you talking about her downfall, is her next 'flop era' will still double EVERYTHING that Katy's next era does.

I think you two misunderstood what I meant by saying "her Blackout or ARTPOP era". Those two eras were underperforming (both commercially and critically) eras for Britney & Gaga. That's why I mentioned those eras, not because Britney had a mental breakdown in 2007 or because Gaga suffered from depression in 2013-2014. I would NEVER wish mental breakdown and depression upon ANYONE, EVER!
