why does it matter

because the more successful she is the more music videos, HQ televised performances, interviews, cute moments, iconic award show moments and performances we get. Say you don't want those things. You won't. Everyone wants to see Gaga music videos (we didn't get any in years). Well she has to be sucessful for that.

Everyone keeps saying "so what if it fails? Its the music that matters" and stuff like that...but don't you guys remember how depressed Gaga was during ARTPOP? Terrible sales, everyone calling her a flop, saying she was done, Troy leaving her, ect.

Gaga is SO happy right now. Imagine she puts out this album and it completely fails. Everyone slams it. Calls her a flop. Criticizes her. Fans b---h and complain about being disappointed and turning in their stan cards. Ect. That would crush her. You can pretend Gaga doesn't care about sales or how her music is receieved all you want, but she's shown time after time that she *does care* Her  team cares. Her label cares.

I want the album to do fantastically for Gagas sake.

Mid-level artists make videos all the time. Gaga will be able to go onto tv and perform, even if her album fails to sell well. She is an established artist, who is well respected. She's not going to have to beg to go on talk shows and other performance shows to perform her music. She will stil be welcomed for interviews, for magazines, radio or on tv shows. Like always, if she is nominated for an award, she will perform on award shows.

None of these things would change. Gaga would still be able to be as visible as she wanted to be.

ngl,i'd be highly disappointed, cuz i love to see my faves on top.Its like Sports for me.when you root for a team, you want that team to win the game, there's no in between. She's the only artist i care about,so yeah,i want her albums to rule the charts

even if it underperforms,i'd still enjoy the songs, like i did with ARTPOP :spook:

btw,i'm pretty sure that LG5 will do better than ARTPOP on charts,so there's no need to worry :rockstar:

That's the difference between a bandwagon sports fan and a committed sports fan. I have a hometown basketball and football team, that I've followed for years and years, since I was old enough to follow sports. They have had their ups and downs, for sure! Yes, it is fun when they are winning and have a legitimate chance to be on top...but it is also fun to have a good season...to go to the big dance and win a game or two, or to go to a bowl game! It may not be the bowl for the National Championship or the final two or four, but it was still an enjoyable season!

There are different factors that play into whether you end up being a top team or not...the coaching staff, recruiting and the right work ethic, talent level and attitude of the players. Then, you've got to have a whole lot of luck involved! Those players have to stay injury free and everything has to fall into place. Outside factors like the other teams in your conference can't be having their best year ever or fair officiating come in to play.

Same thing with music artists. They need to have all the right people in place, but even then, luck and timing can go against them. Maybe their team didn't send out the right singles or didn't line up enough promotion. They released at the wrong time of the year. Then there is luck...maybe the debut single sounded too much like two or three other songs that came out at the same time or some weird trend took hold right when they released their single. (like that folk sound from a couple of years back). Maybe they lost their manager, or their label was going through a bad time. They had issues in their personal life, including health or vocal problems. Maybe the media was against them and it influenced the general perception of the album and era. Sometimes you have a near perfect era, but sometimes you don't. Either way, that doesn't mean fans can't enjoy the music and the general era, despite the fact that it wasn't exactly what they were hoping for at the onset!

As someone who is studying business and working in a major label, it would bug me a little, but my love for Gaga and the potentially great record that is LG5 would not be affected in any way. :nick:

Because Lady Gaga is the only super talented exstraordinary artist with unlimited capability and speciality to singing anything with success unlike other ordinary commercial with limited ability to sing only pop all life, she don't need  any new pop albums or comparison with other low class pop singer if she don't want to. For Gaga been the world biggest pop star  the dream of every pop singer was only the first step of her currier. 2015 is the best happy year for her with out singing pop, and she will change the way how to judge a really true artist, don't waste time to compare she is different higher class unique the best once in life time true artist.

People are waiting for her to fail "again." I hope this isn't the case but I am sure she knows how to make successful hits. Thinking more about it, it's crazy how long Applause spent in the top 10. Who can relate to that song? If other artists put that song out, it most likely would have failed. With ARTPOP, she's experimenting. Now that she knows it didn't click, she will change up her sound again.

I am confident she can deliver a song like JD, PK, and BR. ARTPOP did ok, but blame what/whoever you want, the music speaks for itself. It just was not as good as her previous records. Now that she is working with RedOne again, she has another chance. They make amazing dance records together. I am excited to see what they can make together.

I wouldn't care how bad it tanked. The majority may rule but that doesn't mean they're right. If I enjoyed it, Then it's a success to me

ARTPOP was not a commercial failure. An album that is in the top ten highest selling albums of the year and sells 2.5 million copies world wide is not a commercial failure. The era also produced two top 10 hits and a top 10 tour of the year.
