It would be stupid imo to start the era in January. Of course i'm ****ing thirsty for new music, but if Adele releases in November, she'll rule until March at least. And Gaga doesn't have the power she used to have in 2011 to confront her. Adele will be everywhere, in every corner of the world. Probably she'll talk about LG5 tho, but nothing about starting the era. Wait until May Gags, be smart Adele is coming in November. January or February would actually be the best time period to start the era. Because Adele's era will have already started, and with the follow-ups to massive eras, they are usually very front loaded. Plus, Gaga has some great promotional opportunities (Grammys just being the tip of the iceberg) to promote the single. And the biggest singles of each year generally start smashing in the 1st quarter. If she released the single in March, where would she promote it that would give her as much exposure as a Grammy performance? Plus, more than one female singer can be popular at one time. When Katy Perry got five #1s off of Teenage Dream, she wasn't the most popular female pop star for the duration of that era. Gaga for the first half and Adele for the second half of the Teenage Dream album cycle were both bigger than Katy. But what got Katy her success, and will help Gaga get hers, is consistency. Consistent quality, promotion, and good PR. She needs to start strong (Grammy promo, magazine cover, end of AHS, ect.) and consistently release good singles and videos with good promotion. She has been doing a great job of reiterating her brand with the long blonde bangs and androgynous shades but she has made a timeless and womanly version of her look.
