EDIT: found one :emma:

Also I'm 3 minutes in and all the men's acting has been terribly awkward so far. :awkney:

Agreed. Evan and Finn are terrific actors, but it took them a few minutes to settle into that first scene. "High five!" "...Good." was great, though.

Am I the only one who finds the Lowe family plotline the most interesting? :emma:

I mean, I love seeing Gaga and I think she's doing a great job, but the Lowe's are by far the most relatable characters.

And I'm also not sure why everyone loves Sally so much at this point, because she doesn't even have much of a character arc yet :emma:.

THIS EPISODE WAS FÜCKING AMAZING LOVINGN THE SEASON SO FAR. The story is unwrapping slowly but I like it that way

By the time you reach the end of this sentence, it'll be too late to realize I just wasted your time with a pointless sig.

This episode was pretty bare but at the same time it still kind of pushed the storylines forward ever so slightly. Ramona coming in and their was her background with The Countess which we now know about and her motives against The Countess. Donovan and Iris had more of an emotional role this episode which we hadn't really seen before, and Alex finally seen Holden so we'll see how that plays out.

I know that Cheyenne Jackson is gay in real life but I never knew he was gay in Hotel up until the scene with Tristan. So that's something new we also learned.

AND, I didn't really see the whole point of Naomi Campbell in it, she literally added nothing to the two episodes she was in and her whole involvement was pretty pointless. They could have wrote in another way for the junkie to end up in the hospital.

I laughed for days at the first scene. "High five!" "... Good!" "Killing is awesome dudebro!!" Tristan's such a lil ****, I love how Finn plays his character but I can't wait for him to die.

Gaga's 70s look was ughhhhh everything Freddy's wigs are so gorgeous for ahs, I hope he keeps up the styling quality for her next album cycle. Ramonas styling is amaking too. I love the classic vamp trope of the creator hating her creation's creation. Very Anne Rice.

Thank god for Sarah. I mean, her acting and character literally keep the show from being a joke.

I mean isn't the show kind of supposed to be a joke? I always felt like it was very aware of the way it lampshaded its own ridiculousness and tongue in cheek about using horror tropes as a crutch. (more than a crutch really...  more like a full body cast lol) The acting is excellent but I would never suggest that the plot was meant to be taken seriously. It's like a Gaga music video-excellent directing, styling, sets, but the plot is not the centerpiece of the world Ryan/Gaga envisioned. :emma: It's camp!

I mean, a blaxpoitation movie star s-x pot vampire? Ramona using the exact same opening line in her flashback as Gaga? "I was the queen of ______" Surely they are aware of what they are doing and giggling in the writers' room.

Overall, I thought last week's episode was better, but I'm happy that things are starting to really unfold. The main issue is that, although Finn Wittrock is such a talented actor, Tristan has zero charm or depth. Something needs to happen with him, because he isn't compelling in any way so far.

I can't wait until next week. Rabe, Gabel, and Lynch will spice things up, and it will be interesting how The Countess and Alex interact...

I disagree massively. Ryan Murphy has always stressed that AHS revolves around deep and philosophical themes. The style may be camp and tongue-in-cheek and whatever, but there's still the subject matter and the actual plot that is the core of the whole thing, make no mistake.

In any case, it's not ridiculous enough to be seen as intentionally ludicrous and not serious enough to be seen as anything but superficially touching done-to-death themes to me, so even if the writers know what they're doing, that still doesn't have to mean that they're doing it well..

So far, this season is shaping up to be a great season

unless it goes horribly wrong towards the end like Coven

I love Mommy episode, still not liking Gaga's character tho, but I'm excited for Alex to meet the Countess

why haven't they call The Countess by the name, it's been 3 episode in, for those who doesn't follow the news, they will address her as Gaga, which bothers me

Um, they've called her Elizabeth a lot. Bomer alone calls her Elizabeth and never Countess.
