Bad Bromance 5,809
This week, "Wildest Dreams" climbs to #1 on the Adult Pop Songs chart. This is Taylor Swift's fifth number one on the Adult Pop Songs chart from her album 1989, which ties Katy Perry's Teenage Dream album for most #1 Adult Pop Songs from an album. Katy Perry went #1 with "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "Last Friday Night" and "The One That Got Away". Taylor Swift had one previous #1 on the chart with "I Knew You Were Trouble". http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6731023/taylor-swift-ties-katy-perry-record-atop-adult-pop-songs-chart Congratulations Taylor Swift!!! It's nice to see women succeed in the music industry. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
Yanko 9,860
How the hell can someone say Lona influences someone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhuckvSkNgU wildest dreams sounds like this song anyone with hearing can tell you that 9. "Wildest Dreams." As many people have already noted, "Wildest Dreams" is where Taylor does her very best impression of Lana Del Rey. If it weren't for the fact that Lana already does Lana so well, Taylor would be more successful here. Her vocals sound lovely, but her lyrics lack the (granted, still faux) grit that Lana uses to such great advantage. (This song is the Jessa.) http://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a32519/taylor-swift-1989-track-by-track/ Surprisingly, the famous figure who gets the most elaborate attention is Lana Del Rey: Swift flat-out mimics her on "Wildest Dreams," flitting between a fluttery soprano and deadpan alto, flipping lyrics so Lana -- "His hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room" -- that it's hard to tell if the song is homage or parody. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6289405/taylor-swift-1989-album-review Elsewhere, Taylor borrows from more contemporary influences. Well, “borrows” is putting it lightly: “Wildest Dreams” is a fairly shameless copy of the Lana Del Rey formula, from the obvious lyrical bites (“Heaven can’t help me now”) to trademark motifs (handsome bad boys and girls in pretty dresses and red lips), to the string-filled cinematic production. It filters all the way down to that breathy chorus, which almost perfectly mimics Born To Die‘s “Without You.” This isn’t Taylor Swift — it’s Taylor Del Rey. http://www.muumuse.com/2014/10/1989-taylor-swift-album-review.html/ +halseys album sounds like b-side of btd - congrats to taylor i love that song
