Ronk 14,762
Yay I bought my two copies of ARTPOP separately so I gave it two sales I bought different editions of ARTPOP and C2C at different places ... special editions, deluxe editions, etc. ... some online and some at stores. I live outside the space time continuum.
TimisaMonster 31,073
I don't think that's right...if I buy 10 CDs at once that's ONE album sale? What a flop reason cuz it comes from one person through ONE transaction... Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!
Red 97,983
It must be nice to be a rich stan If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
PopThatArt 2,193
This has been floating around Stan Twitter all day, and these guys are getting draggedT to death. But instead of laughin at them, we should learn from their mistakes. Idk why, and I've seen this happen with ARTPOP and Cheek to Cheek, but buying in bulk only counts for ONE SALE. Yes Gaga is still getting that coin, but not those numbers tho. If you decide to buy multiple physical copies of LG5, make sure you buy them separately. One reciept PER copy-even if it means rejoining the line a lot of times. ~7 months to go, save up and Happy shopping! PS: no cashier wants to deal with transaction-and-repeat for 50 times in a row, so limit it at 10, and find another retailer to buy more copies from. Poor Demi stans… What a waste Garbage. You can buy as many copies of an album as you want, it doesn't change the integrity or quality of the music. Go see A Star is Born
Riot Poof 2,236
I'm not sure how to feel about this, like someone said, you are free to spend your money how you choose but I don't feel this is a wise decision. If you're willing to pay 100$+ for the same album it makes me question whether or not you will make rent, or be able to buy food, or pay utilities. Anyone who is an adult knows that your bills come first and everything else after. IKR. I hope these stans aren't gonna live off ramen for the next two months just cuz they wanted Demi to score a #1 on the BB 200. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.
Snow 1,582
That's so pathetic for me. I wouldn't buy many copies of an album just to increase its chart sales. Agreed... I find this disturbing and a bit too obsessive/sick.... There are oh so many more important things in life :)
zexion_armando 241
Is this how they actually record sales?I always thought it didn't matter since Gaga already got that coin with the retailers bought the CD's to begin with.Tailor your sales to expected debut margins, and sell accordingly. sipthistea 21,099
it's her album. Of course she's going to buy it many times. These Demi fans think they're goin to increase the sales by doing that. And IT also happens with some Gaga fans... Thats desperate!
BlahForever1 671
Whatever the platinum cert is here in NZ (can't be that high) I'll buy that many. I'll travel around the country and buy one from each cd store in each town while blasting LG5 through my stereo. Any NZ monsters want to join on a road trip? The platnium cert here is 15,000 copies... I think aiming for gold cert (7500) is more achievable. I'd totally join though, sounds fun

OBEY 57,109
So is this true or not.I need an answer and some receipts please.I think it counts and its reported as sales. When i was working at a grocery store when you can like 1 bag of chips and multiply it by 2 if youre lazy and you dont want to scan the other bag, it says like Chips x2 and people are saying its the same as scanning two times, it stil says that they sold to and it doesnt mess up the inventory. Supersonic 49,376
I don't know if this is common practice in the USA but for the German charts a digital copy of your actual receipt has to be submitted to the tracking service to back up the sales data and prevent bulk buying influencing chart positions. And when you buy something at iTunes in Germany they even have to submit your address and credit card number to the official tracking service for every sale to do a back up check on whether the data you submitted to iTunes was real or not. There was a high-profile band that got banned from the charts ten years ago because there was evidence for massive chart manipulation and their reputation was ruined forever and eventually they flopped and broke up. RebeldeFaith 5,442
What a waste of money. They could have bought one or two copies and save the rest for tickets for the Confident Tour. But I guess they will have to see it on YouTube now. Unless they can sell those copies on eBay. But really, that's a waste of money. Can I vanish into a cheeseburger pizza? Alien Tulip 12,428
I never understood the point of buying 20 copies of one edition of the cd. I can buy a yearly supply of toilet paper with the amount of money they used to purchase these cds. They're free to spend the money however they want but I think their decision was very stupid. Approximately 15 dollars for each album. Multiply 15 by 20 and you have 300 so the girl pretty much spent 300 dollars on 20 copies of the same album when she could have used that 300 dollars to save up for a demi lovato concert in the future. I actually think the girl bought more than 20 copies so she probably spent about 400 to 500 dollars on those cds. 500 dollars is more than enough for a demi lovato concert and she probably could have had enough left to do some groceries and perhaps even buy a new pair of shoes.
