Let's get this out of the way first: Yes, GaGa is a huge icon who's accomplished SO much in such a short time. Yes, she is one of (if not thee) most talented pop artists today. But...

Will she ever have a MASSIVE smash again? 

One might look at the performance of Applause and say a defiant yes.

Someone else could argue that her days of catchy, quick-selling hits are over and that that's not even a priority to her- She's moved on to bigger and better things (like Grammys).

What do you believe?

Of course. She can write them in her sleep. She had them on ARTPOP (DWUW, Gypsy, Venus, Sexxx Dreams) but the management of the era plus the drama within the haus and her label really stunted things. 

Look at how well everything has been managed since the start of Cheek To Cheek. Everything points to a successful 2016 pop campaign.

Also, everybody seems to forget that Applause was one of her longest charting top 10's (At least in America).

but will she have a HIT single? She's arguably reached Legend status and it's hard for legends to have hit singles (see bey, madge, etc). Hit tours and albums are a given but a single is hard to come by (unless you're Cher).

did you read the OP? and applause was a radio hit but it wasn't really a SUPER strong charting force and it wasn't a "global smash hit". it did amazingly but it was no dark horse etc.

Why is this question even being asked?

OF COURSE she will. Every album so far has had several potential global hits, and many of them were lucky enough to see that success.

But it's about more than just having the music be infectious and "quality". The timing, the visuals, the sound... everything has to be right place/right time.

If we're talking as big as Poker Face, Romance, Just Dance or Born This Way then probably not. She'll have another Telephone/Paparazzi sized hit for sure though (LG5 Lead Single). But you never know, if she makes some amazing pop music & promotes it then she very well could.
