Seriously guys, it's NY Mag and it's one article based off one guy's opinion, no reason to take it so seriously.Β

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

The Katy Perry of 2010 is the same as the Katy Perry of 2015.Β Her hair color is different here and there. That's it.

I guess sir, if you say so

LOL, I'm a female.Β

And LMAO at a certain personΒ saying: "I would still consider Katy an uninspiring, minimally talented, label created project. And yes, that opinion comes from watching her over the past few years and listening to her albums...not just her singles" There's nothing wrong with having an opinion and I'm not attacking him for having one, but him saying that Katy is minimally talented and a label created project is just wrong. ThoseΒ factors aren't subjective - they are objective. I have said this before a lot of times and I don't mind repeating it over and over again as long as people keep on remainingΒ ignorant, so here it is: Katy isn't created by a label. She is not a product nor a project. People who know her and have worked with her have said that she is heavily involved with every aspect of her career, music, and image, more than anybody else. She has the control and she is the boss.Β Even the CEO of Capitol said that Katy is the brain of her operation. Everything ranging from her songsΒ to her albums, to her videos, to her art direction,Β to her performances, to her tours, to her outfits/looks, to her photoshoots,Β to her management and everything in between are from her ownΒ vision and mind. She worked very hard and never let anybody to control her and take away her artistic/creative vision, which is why she dropped out of Columbia records in 2004.

Minimally talented? Yeah, sure. If he really did pay attention to Katy and observed her through the years, he would've known that Katy is more than just minimally talented. Surely, someone who pays attention to an artist in years, would know about their performances.Β

Watch those performances then come and tell me that she's minimally talented. Besides that, listen to songs such as One of the Boys, Mannequin, Ur So Gay, If You Can Afford Me, Lost, Self Inflicted, I'm Still Breathing, Fingerprints, I Think I'm Ready, A Cup of Coffee, Circle the Drain, Who Am I Living For?, Pearl, Not Like the Movies, Legendary Lovers, Ghost, Love Me, This Moment, Double Rainbow, By the Grace of God, Spiritual, It Takes Two, and Choose Your Battles. Those songs required a lot of songwriting talent just like her singles such as I Kissed a Girl, Thinking of You,Β Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T., The One That Got Away, Part ofΒ Me, Wide Awake, and Unconditionally. So much for someone who has listened to all of Katy's albums and has followed her for years... He obviously hasn't followed Katy for years nor he has listened to any of her albums, and is making up stories to get his point across. The opinion of him and majority of other Little Monsters regarding Katy & her musicΒ is solely based on off of hate and envy and nothing more. You can hardly call itΒ an opinion. And not him calling Katy "uninspiring" when she has saved millions of lives with her music and the message that she sends. As a KatyCat myself, I have talked to to other KatyCats who have said that if it wasn't for Katy, they wouldn't be here now, and they definitely did mean it. Thank God I have that certain person in my ignore list.Β

Well, she is mostly surrounded by casual fans, right? I mean, I don't really know anyone who would put Katy Perry as their fave, they probably like her, but she is often amongst other artists people like and never hardcore worshipping like other stars...

I've also never met anyone who would put her as their fave, but I bet there are many. I mean I bet there are people that are blind to her averageness. They see visuals and charts and think "wow, she must be a living legend"

(Just to clarify, I like Katy, I was just describing what I have observed around the people I know, close and not so close friendships, and I have never known a die hard Katy Perry fan, EVER... but that's probably cause I'm not a teenager, which is probaly what her audience consists of (?))

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

These types of comments are the reason why I hate GGD sometimes.:fail:

We all see art differently. Katy fans are not blind. Don't act like you're above people.

Yeah, but it's not about fans, it's about stans, and I feel like Katy has never played any risky cards and that is mostly what evolves into stans, because with risky antics, comes critcism and people who have to defend it and that's how the cult begins normally (either that, or your demographic is prepubescent fangirls who'll buy your toilet paper if it's on eBay... so yeah, I personally feel Katy Perry has pretty much always played it save... I mean I like her, but I don't see why I would ever stan for her... just my opinion, feel free to disagree

I understand what you mean. I just don't like people who look down on others that's all. I not a big fan of katy( I like some of her songs) but I don't judge people who think she is art.
